<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> Role Summary The Senior Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and technically compliant cost estimates for electrical works across commercial, industrial, infrastructure, high-rise, mixed-use, and multidisciplinary construction projects. The role provides expert technical and commercial input throughout the tendering process, supporting the company's business development objectives by ensuring tender submissions are commercially viable, technically sound, competitive, and compliant with client requirements, EWA, EDD, local authority regulations, and applicable industry standards. The position also evaluates project risks and opportunities, develops cost-effective solutions, and contributes to value engineering and bidding strategies that support project profitability. Key Responsibilities Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and scopes of work to establish project requirements. Analyze tender documentation to identify technical, commercial, contractual, and execution risks. Identify missing, conflicting, or unclear information and raise appropriate tender clarifications. Attend tender clarification meetings, site visits, and pre-tender meetings as required. Prepare detailed electrical quantity take-offs covering materials, manpower, equipment, subcontract works, testing, commissioning, and associated costs. Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates based on project requirements, construction methodology, market conditions, and historical cost data. Calculate direct and indirect project costs, including manpower, plant and equipment, temporary works, testing and commissioning, preliminaries, overheads, and other applicable costs. Review electrical designs for technical compliance, constructability, and cost effectiveness. Ensure estimates and technical proposals comply with EWA, EDD, local authority requirements, applicable electrical codes, and relevant industry standards. Assess tender requirements and identify technical deviations, exclusions, qualifications, and compliance concerns. Obtain and evaluate competitive quotations from suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and specialist vendors. Review supplier and subcontractor quotations for technical and commercial compliance. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing, commercial terms, and delivery schedules. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, clients, and relevant stakeholders. Identify financial, technical, procurement, and execution risks associated with tender submissions. Develop appropriate risk mitigation measures, contingencies, and pricing strategies. Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions that optimize project costs without compromising quality, safety, performance, or functionality. Monitor market trends, material costs, labor rates, and pricing fluctuations that may impact project estimates. Maintain and update estimation databases, supplier pricing, rate build-ups, and historical cost information. Prepare comprehensive technical and commercial tender submissions within required deadlines. Provide technical and commercial recommendations to management regarding bid strategy, pricing, risks, and opportunities. Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the General Manager – Estimation & Technical Services. Qualifications Skill, & Experience Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required. Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical estimating and the construction industry. Experience across infrastructure, high-rise buildings, commercial developments, industrial projects, mixed-use developments, and multidisciplinary construction projects. Minimum 10 years of GCC experience is preferred . Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and construction methodologies. Strong working knowledge of EWA and EDD regulations and requirements . Expert knowledge of electrical quantity take-offs, rate build-ups, and cost estimation. Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes, standards, specifications, and authority requirements. Ability to interpret and evaluate engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documentation. Strong understanding of procurement, supplier evaluation, subcontracting, and tendering processes. Strong commercial awareness with the ability to assess risks, opportunities, and pricing strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in relevant estimating and Microsoft Office applications. ROLE PURPOSE: To carry out maintenance, repair, modifications and alterations to customer or company owned, leased or operated aircraft. YOUR TASKS:<ul><li>Maintaining highest possible technical dispatch reliability whilst assessing multiple factors surrounding aircraft serviceability.</li><li>Fly onboard the company aircraft and provide Technical Support at outstations. Where the Aircraft has departed and a defect occurs during the flight, the Flying Spanner Engineer will observe and record as much detail as possible.</li><li>Ensure that aircraft maintenance is performed to the highest standards and at all times in compliance with applicable and approved data.</li><li>The Flying Spanner Engineer is the point of contact for each flight and will ensure, upon arrival, that the receiving engineer is briefed on any technical issues during the flight from both the Captain & Flying Spanner Engineer. All defects will be recorded by the Captain on the eTL, and events, incidents, and pertinent information should be recorded via the company reporting system and communicated to the duty Line Manager and/or MOC Manager.</li><li>The Flying Spanner Engineer will carry out a detailed walk-around inspection of the aircraft down route.</li><li>In the event of a technical defect down route, the engineer will contact BAH MOC and inform them of the defect. Where possible, the Flying Spanner Engineer will make all attempts to return the aircraft back to base utilizing the Approved Company MEL document.</li><li>In the event of an AOG down route the Flying Spanner Engineer will serve as the point of contact for the BAH MOC and make contact with local service providers on the ground through local DHL personnel for Ground Support Equipment and Hangar Space if warranted. In the event that the crew leave the airport during an AOG, the engineer will remain onsite at the aircraft to assess and plan rectification of the defect.</li><li>The Flying Spanner Engineer, in the event of a Maintenance event down route will ensure that all local Airport Procedures are complied with, such as Airport CRS procedures, Engine Running Curfews & Towing of Aircraft.</li><li>Assist in “On-the-job” training of mechanics and trainees in the performance of their duties.</li><li>Responsible for the upkeep and update of Company issued IT such as IPADs & onboard carried mobile phones. </li><li>Responsible for the written and verbal communication of information from his shift to the succeeding shift to ensure a satisfactory level of continuity and safety with regard to work in progress (or pending) with respect to aircraft, equipment, personnel and safety. </li><li>Be responsible for requisitioning of parts from stores, assuring serviceability of parts, completion of appropriate tags, return of parts to stores and assuring that required forms and documents are properly completed.</li><li>Maintain and Manage the ETL as end users including the procedure to print in the event of ETL failure. </li><li>Ensure that all maintenance related documentation is properly actioned and completed.</li><li>Keep up to date on all applicable regulations, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives and manufacturer’s service letters and other pertinent publications.</li><li>Responsible for the completion of mandatory trainings on a quarterly basis such as Continuation Training, SFAR 88 Fuel Tank safety & Human Factors. </li><li>Shall ensure that safety precautions and safe practices are adhered to and practiced by those personnel under his direction. Reporting any unsafe conditions or equipment to the Production Manager. </li><li>The reporting of safety risks during flights at outstations through the Trip Reporting & company reporting systems. </li><li>In the event of a SAFA Inspection down route, the Flying Spanner engineer is responsible for informing the MOC & the Quality department immediately. SAFA, Operational delays, and Safety events should be recorded on a company reporting system.</li><li>Ensure that company owned and/or operated maintenance and ground support equipment is operated and maintained in safe and operable condition. All GSE defects to be documented and reported to the GSE mechanic.</li><li>Responsible to keep up to date with roster change notifications from the AIMs system even on days off.</li><li>Ensure that all line maintenance areas are kept in a neat and orderly manner at all times.</li><li>Will be required to act on behalf of Line Supervisor or Line Manager as required.</li><li>Inputting of all relevant aircraft Tech Log and Work Order information including component changes into the computer maintenance program</li><li>Must be able to analyse and troubleshoot aircraft systems and engines utilising knowledge learnt from individual aircraft type courses, maintenance manuals and references, and experience gained from “hands on” practical OJT. </li><li>Fueling figures are published on NMIV and the Certifying Engineers are responsible for reviewing NMIV and take initial figures to reduce fueling errors. </li><li>Must be able to make timely and appropriate decisions based on problem solving ability and experience.
