Device & Cross-Platform Testing</span></b></p><br><ul><li><p><span>Execute manual testing across a range of iOS and Android devices, screen sizes, OS versions, and network conditions to ensure consistent app behaviour.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Identify device-specific or OS-version-specific defects and document them with full reproduction steps and device context.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Maintain a device testing matrix and ensure coverage of the most commonly used devices in the Bede customer base.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Test app behaviour on both stable Wi-Fi and mobile data conditions, including low-connectivity scenarios.</span></p><br></li></ul><p><b><span>3. Defect Management & Build Feedback</span></b></p><br><ul><li><p><span>Log, track, and manage all defects found during testing using the agreed defect management tool (e.g. JIRA), with clear severity classification, reproduction steps, screenshots, and expected vs. actual results.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Provide structured, detailed build feedback reports to the Digital Operations Project Manager and the development vendor before any release is approved to go live.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Re-test resolved defects to confirm fixes are complete and have not introduced new issues (regression testing).</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Give a clear go / no-go recommendation for each build based on testing outcomes, with supporting documentation.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Track defect trends over time to identify recurring quality issues and feed these into improvement discussions with the vendor.</span></p><br></li></ul><p><b><span>4. QA Vendor Coordination</span></b></p><br><ul><li><p><span>Work closely with the external QA vendor on a day-to-day basis, aligning on test scope, priorities, timelines, and reporting standards.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Review and validate the QA vendor’s test plans, test scripts, and test results to ensure they are thorough, accurate, and aligned with Bede’s business requirements.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Flag gaps or inconsistencies in vendor testing coverage and work collaboratively to close them.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Maintain clear records of all vendor testing activities and outcomes for internal reference and audit purposes.</span></p><br></li></ul><p><b><span>5. Release Validation & Go-Live Support</span></b></p><br><ul><li><p><span>Conduct final pre-release validation testing on the production-ready build before every app release.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Perform post-deployment smoke testing immediately after a release goes live to confirm critical functions are working as expected.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Support the team during UAT sessions with internal stakeholders and business users.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Participate in sprint reviews and release sign-off meetings to provide a testing perspective.</span></p><br></li></ul><p><b><span>6. Test Process Improvement</span></b></p><br><ul><li><p><span>Continuously identify opportunities to improve the testing process, coverage, and efficiency, and propose these improvements to the Digital Operations Project Manager.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Contribute to building and maintaining internal testing documentation, guides, and best practice frameworks.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Over time, take ownership of evaluating and implementing a mobile app test automation framework — working with a vendor or building in-house capability — to reduce manual testing effort on regression and repetitive scenarios.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Stay current with mobile testing tools, automation frameworks (e.g. Appium, Selenium, Detox), and industry best practices relevant to fintech app testing.</span></p><br></li></ul><p><b><span>7. <p><h4>Bank overview</h4>
<p>Bank ABC seeks to recruit a Head of IT Application Support in the Group Information Technology Department based in our Head Office in Bahrain. The Head of Application Support provides bank-wide leadership and accountability for the stability, availability, resilience, and controlled change of the bank's application and digital service landscape. This includes core banking platforms (e.g., Temenos), payments, digital channels, treasury and markets, CRM, trade finance, AML/KYC and sanctions, regulatory and finance reporting, data platforms, and enterprise integration.</p>
<p>The role owns the Run-the-Bank (RTB) and Change-the-Bank (CTB) operating model and plays a critical role in shaping the Run-and-Change interface between the bank, IT vendors, and managed-service providers, ensuring that production services are delivered in a predictable, secure, compliant, and cost-effective manner across a hybrid cloud environment spanning on-premises, private cloud, and public cloud platforms.</p>
<p>As part of the bank's technology transformation agenda, the role is responsible for supporting and executing the application support strategy for core banking and all associated ecosystems, including cloud-hosted deployments, vendor-managed services, and complex integration patterns.</p>
<p>The job holder is expected to modernise and adopt AI-enabled capabilities across application support; this includes embedding disciplined ITIL-aligned service management in collaboration with other technology teams. Finally, the Head of Application Support acts as a senior contributor to the wider Group Technology Strategy, supporting technology governance, regulatory readiness, risk management, and architecture discipline.</p>
<h4>Responsibilities of the role</h4>
<p>The job holder will be responsible for:</p>
<h4>Strategy and governance</h4>
<ul>
<li>Define, own and continuously evolve the application support strategy aligned with business objectives and the wider Group technology strategy, with clear roadmap around Temenos and its digital ecosystem.</li>
<li>Work with other technology partners and key stakeholders to establish and enforce a robust governance framework for RTB and CTB, ensuring clear accountability between internal teams, vendors, and managed-service providers.</li>
<li>Ensure the application support team comply with regulatory, risk, and internal control requirements, providing senior-level assurance for audits, regulatory reviews, and other examinations.</li>
<li>Support the GCITO in shaping and executing Group-wide technology governance, including policy adherence, architectural discipline, service standards, and technology risk management.</li>
<li>Sponsor and gradually adopt AI capabilities across application support, ensuring appropriate governance and measurable operational benefits.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Application ecosystem management</h4>
<ul>
<li>Lead the definition and execution of application lifecycle and obsolescence management, ensuring early engagement with systems owners to timely decommission, migrate, or consolidate systems in line with the bank's core banking and digital transformation strategy.</li>
<li>Own and drive the rationalisation and simplification of the application estate, with the Temenos core banking platform as the strategic foundation around which all supporting, adjacent and downstream systems are designed, integrated, and operated.</li>
<li>Ensure the application support model, service processes, and operational tooling are aligned to the bank's technology roadmap, including cloud-hosted deployments, vendor-managed services, and complex integration landscapes.</li>
<li>As needed, lead major incident and problem management situations, ensuring timely resolution, executive communication, root-cause analysis, and durable remediation.</li>
<li>Own and mature ITIL/ServiceNow-aligned service management practices (incident, problem, change, release, knowledge), ensuring consistent execution across the application support team.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Collaboration and stakeholder management</h4>
<ul>
<li>Act as the most senior point of contact for business stakeholders and business-technologist teams on application stability, integration, service performance, and operational risk.</li>
<li>Partner closely with Architecture, IT Delivery, Data Management, Service Management, Cyber Security, and Business technologists to ensure seamless transition of solutions into production and sustained service quality.</li>
<li>Build and maintain strong, outcome-driven relationships with vendors, system integrators, and managed-service providers, ensuring SLA compliance, performance transparency, and accountability.</li>
<li>Provide clear, timely, and executive-ready communication during incidents, service issues, and material risk events.</li>
<li>Represent Application Support in senior management forums, governance committees, and steering groups, contributing informed, risk-based perspectives.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Leadership and people management</h4>
<ul>
<li>Lead and develop a high-performance application support team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Manage clear role boundaries and responsibilities across Tech Leads, support teams, business-technologist teams, and vendor resources, ensuring effective coverage and resilience.</li>
<li>Build and execute succession plans and capability uplift strategies, particularly in Temenos, cloud operations, service management, and AI-enabled application delivery and support. Promote modern ways of working, including SRE principles, automation and AI, and data-driven decision-making.</li>

<h4>Areas of knowledge, qualification and experience</h4>
<ul>
<li>20+ years of technology, digital or application support experience.</li>
<li>10+ years in a managerial and leadership role (mandatory).</li>
<li>Extensive leadership experience in application support, production services, or technology operations within banking or regulated financial services.</li>
<li>Proven accountability for the stability, availability, and resilience of large-scale, business-critical application estates.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience supporting and operating core banking platforms, preferably Temenos, within complex, multi-vendor and integration-heavy environments.</li>
<li>Experience leading and developing multi-disciplinary, geographically distributed teams, including succession planning and capability uplift.</li>
<li>Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.</li>
<li>Temenos banking platform (desirable) - formal training or certifications related to Temenos implementations, operations, or upgrades.</li>
<li>Professional certifications in IT Service Management (e.g., ITIL), Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), Project delivery/governance (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2, etc.).</li>

<li>Hybrid cloud architectures and operating models, spanning on-premises, private cloud, and public cloud environments, with an understanding of operational resilience, availability, and recovery considerations.</li>
<li>Non-functional requirements (NFRs) and operational controls, including availability, performance, security, scalability, observability, resilience, and recoverability.</li>
<li>Modern reliability and operations concepts, including Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), automation, monitoring, and data-driven service delivery.</li>

<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p>Overall incharge of the station/country, including Sales, Airport, Security, Cargo, Finance, HR and Maintenance functions and ensure all the activities in the station are aligned with the company s mission, strategic objectives, policies and meet all legal, Governmental and other requirements and regulations.</p><p>Administratively manage staff and the station budget, increase market shares and revenues, provide high quality of customer service, extend all the necessary support required in the Airport operations, organize and chair monthly station coordination meeting, liaise with concerned management and stake-holders in the HDQ and provide monthly reports on station activities.</p><p>Represent Gulf Air as the senior executive in the station/country.</p><p><strong>MAIN DUTIES</strong></p><p>1. Undertake full responsibility of the station/country, including Airport, Security, Cargo, Finance, HR and Maintenance to ensure the functions of the station run to utmost satisfaction of the respective functional division.</p><p>2. Organize and chair a monthly Station Coordination meeting with all functional heads in the station to enhance synergy and team work and send copy of the minutes of such meeting to all concerned management and stake-holders in the HDQ.</p><p>3. Manage the station budget and all resources to ensure optimum utilization, control items of expenditure to pre-determine budgetary levels by maintaining a strict cost control policy, in particular commission costs of our GSAs and all other distributions, training and manpower development.</p><p>4. Manage service providers and ensure GF receives all services under the contracts with third parties.</p><p>5. In the event of flight disruption and operational requirements, extend all necessary support in the Airport, including being personally present at the airport to protect the safety and security of whole operation, including aircraft and passengers and to ensure the flight is released on time or with minimum damage caused to GF prestige.</p><p>6. Increase market share and revenues and drive the performance of the business unit, with the objective to ensure the delivery of the customer services, increase market share and focus on high yield premium revenue and contribution.</p><p>7. Develop, recommend, implement and monitor the Area or Country Business Plan including business priorities, revenue and cost of sales target and Key Performance Indicators for all commercial activity. Ensure clear and robust activity plans are in place and that the results are closely monitored and analysed to maximize contribution.</p><p>8. Formulate a viable marketing or business plan, designed to achieve set objectives, increase market share and revenues at optimal costs.</p><p>9. Champion the GF brand values in the area or country of responsibility through all sales and marketing activities, especially promotions and those with media involvement, to ensure strong visibility / communication is maintained within the assigned territory with an aim to increase the regional profile of GF.</p><p>10. Continuously explore areas to generate revenue to exceed required targets. Initiate and maintain regular contact with principal officers in government departments and companies, travel organizers, and tour companies to ensure travel where possible is on the services of Gulf Air.</p><p>11. Monitor progress against revenue and targets, analyse and comment on the monthly traffic / revenue reports and recommend and implement any changes to existing plans and operating budgets.</p><p>12. Liaise with HDQ Commercial Planning and Network Revenue Management Department to identify, review and recommend changes to tariffs or schedules that could improve the area performance.</p><p>13. Provide feedback and recommendations to management with regard to product design and specifications, developing alternate routes and destinations, changes in existing destinations, opening and closing of stations, fares, in-flight products & services and timings to ensure a cutting edge vis- -vis the competitors.</p><p>14. Be commercially aware of all issues affecting regional performance including competitor s activities that could ultimately affect GF business. Monitor and assess their initiatives and costs to take tactical actions and to feed intelligence to the management.</p><p>15. Ensure business continuity across the business area by establishing strong partnering relationships across all parts of the Marketing & Sales organization so that the business unit operates seamlessly and is easy for its stakeholders to do business with.</p><p>16. Maintain and improve personnel standards of customer services, business sense and positive performance to ensure all available opportunities are capitalized upon.</p><p>17. Represent GF as the Senior Executive in the area or country when interfacing or negotiating with Governments, Civil Service, GSAs, Travel Agents, Handling Companies and other organizations in collaboration with Ground Services, Security, Cargo and Engineering.</p><p>18. Responsible for safety and security of GF operations, staff, property and assets within the area/country of operation.</p><p>19. Develop teamwork, demonstrating shared goals and values. Provide leadership guidance and support to all staff in the station/country. Enable the functional heads in the station to ensure staffs are recruited, trained and motivated to the standards set in the People KPI by recognizing performance. Provide, where appropriate, a succession plan for the station.</p><p>20. Exercise effective management of the station staff in terms of selecting, training, motivating, evaluating and disciplining subordinates in appropriate liaison with HR function.</p><p>21. Prepare and plan the schedule of annual leave of the functional heads in the station in coordination with concerned functional management in HDQ.</p><p>22. Authorized to sign all contracts within the local limit (BD 10,000) in accordance with the GF procurement and BTB regulation.</p><p>23. Supervises the preparation of the Department s annual plans and capital and operating budgets and once approved, controls expenditure and staffing against these plans and budgets.</p><p>24. Country Manager (CM) is deputized by the Airport Manager (APM) during his absence and annual leave to ensure the station functions smoothly. CM plans the Annual Leave with the APM in order to prevent their annual leave being overlapped. The approval of the APM s annual leave is vested in CM in liaison with Manager Outstations.</p><p>25. Direct the APM in relation to all legal and Government affairs.
