Job summary
Manage and support the day-to-day technical operations of the reverse osmosis (RO) desalination plant to ensure safe, secure, and reliable operations that meet customer and contractual requirements. Serve as the primary technical point of contact bridging communication between the Customer, the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Contractor, and the Owner, ensuring plant performance, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements are clearly understood and consistently met by all parties.
Key responsibilities
Duties
• Provide day-to-day technical support to the O&M Contractor on RO desalination process operations, including pretreatment, RO membrane systems, chemical dosing, energy recovery, and post-treatment/remineralization.
• Monitor plant performance data (production rates, recovery, permeate/product water quality, energy consumption, chemical usage) and identify trends or deviations from design and contractual parameters.
• Review O&M Contractor reports, maintenance schedules, and performance data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and support root cause analysis for equipment failures, process upsets, or water quality excursions.
• Support permitting, regulatory compliance, and reporting requirements related to facility operations.
• Assist with contract compliance monitoring, KPI tracking, and verification of O&M performance guarantees.
• Review and provide technical input on capital improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and process optimization initiatives.
• Support incident investigation, corrective action planning, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, including O&M manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and as-built records.
Coordination, stakeholder & communication management
• Serve as the primary technical liaison bridging communication between the Customer, the O&M Contractor, and the Owner regarding plant operations, performance, and maintenance activities.
• Facilitate and participate in regular technical meetings and site visits with Owner, Customer, and O&M Contractor representatives.
• Liaise with the O&M Contractor to plan maintenance activities, process changes, and performance reviews.
• Coordinate with engineering, environmental, and regulatory personnel as needed on facility-related matters.
• Report plant performance, technical issues, equipment failures, and improvement recommendations to the Owner and Customer.
• Report critical operational issues, non-conformances, and contractual risks to minimize disruption and maintain operational continuity.
Policies, processes & procedures
• Follow all relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining confidentiality and privacy of company data, as well as adhering to security and safety standards, and following professional ethics and behavioral standards.
• Ensure compliance with company engineering standards, contractual requirements, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Report significant operational, contractual, or compliance issues to [Reports To / Management].
• Perform other duties as assigned.</p><p>Job qualifications and experience requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; Chemical Engineering strongly preferred. Other related engineering disciplines (Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical) will be considered with directly relevant desalination experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on operating experience at a reverse osmosis (RO) desalination facility required.
• Demonstrated understanding of RO desalination process fundamentals, including pretreatment, RO membrane systems, chemical dosing, energy recovery, brine management, and post-treatment/remineralization.
• Hands-on experience with membrane cleaning-in-place (CIP) procedures, including cleaning chemistry selection, troubleshooting fouling/scaling, and evaluating post-CIP membrane performance.
• Experience working with or alongside O&M contractors, owners, and/or customers in a liaison, technical oversight, or owner's engineer capacity preferred.
• Familiarity with SCADA/DCS systems and plant performance monitoring and reporting tools.
• Strong technical and process troubleshooting skills specific to RO desalination operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information clearly for diverse stakeholder audiences.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholder groups (Customer, O&M Contractor, and Owner).
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound engineering judgment, and manage competing priorities.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with plant historian or SCADA software is a plus.
• Working knowledge of relevant regulatory and permitting frameworks applicable to water/desalination facilities.

Main Duties <br> </div>

<p>1.Work with, and under the direction of the designated A/C Engineers/Lic Technicians to carry out routine tasks and non-routine tasks.<br>2.Replace components on Company or other operators aircraft and engines as required.<br>3.Strictly adhere to company staff rules and regulation.<br>4.Strictly adhere to company safety rules and regulation and to wear proper uniform and safety shoes while on duty.<br>5.Adhere and comply with aircraft approved maintenance documents instructions when performing any routine tasks and non-routine tasks and acquaint self with all the safety related precautions to avoid personal injuries or damages to aircraft structures and systems. <br>6.Make sure that all equipments and tools used for aircraft maintenance are in serviceable and safe condition. Report any faulty equipment or tool to Engineer or Duty Manager, unserviceable tool/ equipment must be isolated and attach a with unserviceable tag.<br>7.Service equipment and aircraft special tools as deemed necessary to maintain them in a serviceable, safe and clean condition.<br>8.As part of maintenance practice, make sure that all tools used to perfom any routine and non-routine task are registered, to make sure they are removed on task completion.<br>9.On completion of routine tasks and non-routine tasks, make sure that work area is tidy and free from any loose articles.<br>10.Assist in positioning and clearing equipment to carry maintenance tasks on aircraft.<br>11.Make sure that all tools and equipment used are returned to proper location.<br>12.Perform the headset duties during engine ground runs and aircraft Towing in accordance with company TIM procedures.<br>13.Adhere to Airside Safety Rules and Regulations in regard to driving and work area cleanliness.<br>14.Purchase a approved tool kit containing appropriate tools to perform duties on the company and third party fleets.<br>15.Perform the required duties in accordance with AME and Duty Manager instruction and aircraft approved documentations procedures.<br>16.Maintain a high level of self discipline and respect his superiors instructions.<br>17.Become familiar with Gulf Air Information System AMOS and its basic transactions related to this work scope.<br> </p>

<p>As a Shift Technician, you will be responsible for attending daily briefings and executing planned maintenance activities for guest villas to ensure the proper functionality of electrical systems and equipment. You will efficiently handle maintenance requests, install and maintain safety components, troubleshoot electrical hazards, and assist during emergency situations. The role includes conducting routine inspections, recording repair and maintenance activities, and ensuring timely attendance to assigned duties. Collaborate with a passionate, innovative team.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities:</h3><h4>Routine Maintenance and Installation :</h4><p>Execute maintenance plans for guest villas to ensure the proper functioning of lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and other electrical systems. This includes installing electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment for alarms and other systems, as well as safety and distribution components such as switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels, and connecting wiring in electrical circuits and networks to ensure compatibility of components.</p><h4>Emergency Response and Troubleshooting :</h4><p>Standby for emergency electrical work after midnight as per duty roster. Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units. Attend to any faults and breakdowns of electrical equipment, wiring installations, and fixtures in all rooms and public areas, as well as respond to fire alarm faults, fires reported by reception, and breakdowns of major equipment such as generators, STP, and desalination plants.</p><h4>Documentation and Reporting :</h4><p>Maintain records of electrical parts used during repairs and communicate with the Engineering Supervisor for parts ordering. Check all logbooks to ensure proper documentation of maintenance requests and materials used, and report any major operational issues to the Engineering Supervisor or Assistant Chief Engineer. Attend duties punctually as per the duty roster and assist engineering crews as needed.</p><h4>Training and Compliance :</h4><p>Attend the regular morning briefing with the Assistant Chief Engineer/Director of Engineering and participate in monthly fire hydrant exercises. Additionally, attend all job-oriented training conducted by the Engineering Department and HR, ensuring cleanliness around the electrical workshop and job sites.
