Supports shipbuilding, repair, and conversion projects by providing technical engineering solutions and structural assessments.</p><br><p><strong>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><ul><li><p>Prepares basic design and related calculations.</p></li><li><p>Performs calculations to Classification Society requirements.</p></li><li><p>Provides information to Design Draughtsmen for the preparation of docking plans and drawings.</p></li><li><p>Checks load conditions, stability, trim, etc., of vessels for docking.</p></li><li><p>Assists Technical Department Head in the various studies carried out by the Department.</p></li><li><p>Prepares specifications, cost estimates and time estimates.</p></li><li><p>Assists Technical Department Head to provide technical advice and solutions to other Departments.</p></li><li><p>Follows up all projects carried out by Technical Department.</p></li><li><p>Implements the Quality Assurance System to the extent applicable to his works</p></li><li><p>Performs other job-related duties as assigned.</p></li><li><p>To ensure an acceptable ISO standards of Quality, Environmental, OHSMS and Security Management System and American Petroleum Institute (API) Q1 are maintained in accordance with recognized working practices and the Company’s QEHS&S Manual and Policy.</p></li><li><p>To ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE</strong></p><ul><li><p>University degree in Naval Architecture or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p>Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as Naval Architect in ship repair industry or similar industry.</p></li></ul><p><strong>REQUIRED SKILLS</strong></p><ul><li><p>Proficiency in computer software related to Naval Architecture, structure analysis, basic software tools.</p></li><li><p>Proficient in Naval Architectural calculation, scantling calculation, familiar with IMO regulations, classification rules related to Ships & Rigs.</p></li><li><p>Proactive to conduct on-board survey, inclining experiments, deadweight survey etc.</p></li><li><p>Planning & organizing the work.</p></li><li><p>Employee focused (Polite, Courteous).</p></li><li><p>Pro active</p></li><li><p>Self motivated & Hardworking</p></li><li><p>Ability to deal with people at all levels.</p></li><li><p>Time managed.</p></li><li><p>Trustworthy, honest & keeps confidentiality.</p></li><li><p>Excellent command in English (written & spoken).</p></li><li><p>Independent correspondence ability.</p></li><li><p>Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.</p></li><li><p>Computer Skills, preferably in designing applications.</p></li><li><p>Ability to solve problems.</p></li><li><p>Teamwork.</p></li></ul>
