<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <span>Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical Location: Bahrain Division &amp; Department: Precontract &amp; Technical Services Role Summary The Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical is responsible for providing technical and commercial support during the pre-contract tendering stage.<br> The role involves preparing accurate quantity take-offs for Plumbing, Drainage, HVAC, and Mechanical Infrastructure systems, coordinating supplier and subcontractor enquiries, and supporting the preparation of competitive and compliant tender submissions.<br> The successful candidate will work closely with the estimation team to ensure accurate costing, timely procurement inputs, and high-quality tender documentation.<br> Key Responsibilities Perform detailed quantity take-offs and measurements from tender drawings, specifications, and related documents for Mechanical systems.<br> Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to suppliers and subcontractors for Mechanical works.<br> Follow up with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain timely and competitive quotations.<br> Review and evaluate quotations to ensure compliance with project specifications and tender requirements.<br> Assist in the preparation and updating of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates.<br> Support the Senior Mechanical Estimator in preparing tender submissions and pricing proposals.<br> Review tender drawings and identify discrepancies, omissions, or design conflicts.<br> Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) and coordinate technical clarifications with consultants and clients.<br> Attend site visits when required to assess project conditions and Mechanical installation requirements.<br> Maintain accurate records of quantity take-offs, quotations, and tender documentation.<br> Utilize AutoCAD, PlanSwift/Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel effectively to ensure accuracy and efficiency.<br> Collaborate with internal teams to meet tender submission deadlines and project requirements.<br> Qualifications &amp; SkillsQualifications Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.<br> Minimum 2 years of experience in Mechanical Quantity Surveying, Estimation, or Tendering within the construction or MEP industry.<br> Technical Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD.<br> Proficiency in PlanSwift and/or Bluebeam for quantity take-offs.<br> Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.<br> Strong understanding of Plumbing, Drainage, HVAC, and Mechanical Infrastructure systems.<br> Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOQs.<br> Strong analytical and numerical skills.<br> Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.<br> Effective communication and coordination skills.<br> Ability to work under pressure and meet tight tender deadlines.<br> Strong organizational and time-management abilities.<br> Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.<br></span> </div>
