Work Location<br>UNIC Manama, Hybrid (in-person or remote), up to 34 hours per week<br> Expected duration<br>3 to 6 months maximum<br> Duties and Responsibilities<br>This position is located in the United Nations Information Centre in Manama (UNIC Manama), within the Information Centres Service (ICS), Department of Global Communications. UNIC Manama is the principal source of information about the United Nations system in Bahrain; it provides strategic communications services to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. It is responsible for promoting public understanding and support for the aims and activities of the United Nations by communicating the work of the UN to a local audience in local languages; engaging local and regional partners; and, overall, bringing the United Nations closer to the peoples it serves. The incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Director, UNIC Manama. The internship is for three (3) months up to a maximum of six (6) months depending on the availability of the intern and needs of the department. The internship is designed to be up to 34 hours per week with a hybrid work arrangement (remote or in-person). Responsibilities will depend on the individual's background, the intern's assigned office, as well as the internship period. Objective/ Role Purpose: To provide senior coordination and supervision of the University’s extra and co-curricular student personal and professional development (PPD) programmes delivered by the Student Development and Wellbeing Department, supporting the development of well-rounded, resilient and professionally prepared healthcare graduates. Key responsibilities: Development of effective coordination strategies, planning, enhancement and evaluation of a range of university-wide extra- and co-curricular student development programmes, ensuring that opportunities are accessible, inclusive, evidence-informed and aligned with the University’s graduate profile, curriculum, student needs and strategic priorities, designed to enhance student experience and academic, personal and professional growth. Provide effective coordination and oversight of key University extra- and co-curricular personal and professional development programmes, including: International Citizenship Award Programme Personal Tutor Programme for Foundation Year medical students Student Health Ambassador Programme Personal and Professional Development Fund for students attending research conferences, workshops and PPD events Student Engagement and Partnership (StEP) Programme Other student development, engagement and support initiatives as required.
