The job holder shall act as an Infrastructure Specialist, responsible for ensuring the availability, stability, resilience, and performance of client’s enterprise IT and network infrastructure. They shall provide advanced technical expertise across WAN, LAN, MPLS, routing/switching, firewalls, and multi-site connectivity, supporting critical business operations across offices, data rooms, warehouses, and retail locations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
Operational Ownership & Stability
· Own day-to-day operation of enterprise network and infrastructure services, ensuring availability and performance across all sites.
· Administer and support WAN/Internet connectivity (MPLS, Fiber, ISP routing) including redundancy, failover testing, and service optimization.
· Operate, maintain, and upgrade firewall and network security platforms (policies, NAT, VPN, firmware upgrades, and rule reviews) in coordination with Cybersecurity requirements.
· Support server room / data room infrastructure (cabling, rack layouts, core/edge/distribution switching, and environmental/physical security coordination).
· Safeguard IT infrastructure assets within secure areas, ensuring proper movement controls and records.
Incident, Change & Risk Management
· Conduct advanced troubleshooting for major incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective/preventive actions.
· Plan and deliver infrastructure changes and upgrades (routers, switches, wireless, links) using change management controls to minimize disruption.
· Monitor network health and capacity, identify risks, and recommend improvements to resilience, performance, and scalability.
Vendor, Documentation & Governance Support
· Coordinate with telecom operators, ISPs, and vendors to ensure service continuity, manage escalations, and drive SLA compliance.
· Coordinate vendor support contracts and renewals from a technical perspective (scope validation, quotations, and technical clarifications).
· Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation including topology diagrams, IP plans, configurations, inventories, and recovery procedures.
· Provide technical input to the Manager – IT Operations & Cybersecurity on architecture decisions, risk items, and improvement roadmaps.
Cybersecurity Alignment
· Implement infrastructure security controls and configurations in alignment with approved cybersecurity policies and standards; security strategy, governance, and monitoring remain under the Cybersecurity function.
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
· Relevant professional certifications are strongly preferred (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, or equivalent).
· IT service management and security certifications are an advantage (e.g., ITIL Foundation, ISO 27001 awareness, or equivalent).</p><p>Experience
· 5–7 years of proven experience in IT operations/service delivery with a strong focus on network and infrastructure operations.
· Hands-on experience supporting multi-site environments (HQ, warehouses, and retail branches) with business-critical connectivity requirements.
· Demonstrated experience coordinating with ISPs/telecom providers and vendors (fault isolation, escalation, and service restoration).
· Experience executing controlled changes in production (maintenance windows, rollback planning, and post-change validation).
Knowledge
· Strong understanding of enterprise networking (WAN/LAN, routing, switching, MPLS, VPNs, QoS, and segmentation).
· Awareness of hybrid connectivity models, SD?WAN concepts, and cloud?connected infrastructure is an advantage.

Where the Aircraft has departed and a defect occurs during the flight, the Flying Spanner Engineer will observe and record as much detail as possible.</span></li><li><span >Ensure that aircraft maintenance is performed to the highest standards and at all times in compliance with applicable and approved data.</span></li><li><span >The Flying Spanner Engineer is the point of contact for each flight and will ensure, upon arrival, that the receiving engineer is briefed on any technical issues during the flight from both the Captain & Flying Spanner Engineer. All defects will be recorded by the Captain on the eTL, and events, incidents, and pertinent information should be recorded via the company reporting system and communicated to the duty Line Manager and/or MOC Manager.</span></li><li><span >The Flying Spanner Engineer will carry out a detailed walk-around inspection of the aircraft down route.</span></li><li><span >In the event of a technical defect down route, the engineer will contact BAH MOC and inform them of the defect. Where possible, the Flying Spanner Engineer will make all attempts to return the aircraft back to base utilizing the Approved Company MEL document.</span></li><li><span >In the event of an AOG down route the Flying Spanner Engineer will serve as the point of contact for the BAH MOC and make contact with local service providers on the ground through local DHL personnel for Ground Support Equipment and Hangar Space if warranted. In the event that the crew leave the airport during an AOG, the engineer will remain onsite at the aircraft to assess and plan rectification of the defect.</span></li><li><span >The Flying Spanner Engineer, in the event of a Maintenance event down route will ensure that all local Airport Procedures are complied with, such as Airport CRS procedures, Engine Running Curfews & Towing of Aircraft.</span></li><li><span >Assist in “On-the-job” training of mechanics and trainees in the performance of their duties.</span></li><li><span >Responsible for the upkeep and update of Company issued IT such as IPADs & onboard carried mobile phones. </span></li><li><span >Responsible for the written and verbal communication of information from his shift to the succeeding shift to ensure a satisfactory level of continuity and safety with regard to work in progress (or pending) with respect to aircraft, equipment, personnel and safety. </span></li><li><span >Be responsible for requisitioning of parts from stores, assuring serviceability of parts, completion of appropriate tags, return of parts to stores and assuring that required forms and documents are properly completed.</span></li><li><span >Maintain and Manage the ETL as end users including the procedure to print in the event of ETL failure. </span></li><li><span >Ensure that all maintenance related documentation is properly actioned and completed.</span></li><li><span >Keep up to date on all applicable regulations, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives and manufacturer’s service letters and other pertinent publications.</span></li><li><span >Responsible for the completion of mandatory trainings on a quarterly basis such as Continuation Training, SFAR 88 Fuel Tank safety & Human Factors. </span></li><li><span >Shall ensure that safety precautions and safe practices are adhered to and practiced by those personnel under his direction. Reporting any unsafe conditions or equipment to the Production Manager. </span></li><li><span >The reporting of safety risks during flights at outstations through the Trip Reporting & company reporting systems. </span></li><li><span >In the event of a SAFA Inspection down route, the Flying Spanner engineer is responsible for informing the MOC & the Quality department immediately. SAFA, Operational delays, and Safety events should be recorded on a company reporting system.</span></li><li><span >Ensure that company owned and/or operated maintenance and ground support equipment is operated and maintained in safe and operable condition. All GSE defects to be documented and reported to the GSE mechanic.</span></li><li><span >Responsible to keep up to date with roster change notifications from the AIMs system even on days off.</span></li><li><span >Ensure that all line maintenance areas are kept in a neat and orderly manner at all times.</span></li><li><span >Will be required to act on behalf of Line Supervisor or Line Manager as required.</span></li><li><span >Inputting of all relevant aircraft Tech Log and Work Order information including component changes into the computer maintenance program</span></li><li><span >Must be able to analyse and troubleshoot aircraft systems and engines utilising knowledge learnt from individual aircraft type courses, maintenance manuals and references, and experience gained from “hands on” practical OJT.<span> </span></span></li><li><span >Fueling figures are published on NMIV and the Certifying Engineers are responsible for reviewing NMIV and take initial figures to reduce fueling errors. </span></li><li><span >Must be able to make timely and appropriate decisions based on problem solving ability and experience. Remains objective and co-ordinates with relevant departments, even when under pressure, to make a calculated decision with considerations given to safe ‘on time performance’ of the company fleet.</span></li><li><span >Completion and submission of SM006 Maintenance Feedback Forms for non-safety related observations on flights and ramp. </span></li><li><span >The charging of 02 bottles IAW Procedure 2.1.64. and shop workorder completion.<span> </span></span></li><li><span >Must be able to priorities work requirements based on fleet arrivals, departures and scheduled maintenance. Monitor progress throughout shift, anticipate problems and adjust work or schedule to ensure optimum serviceability at all times.
