<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p>What We Need From You</p><p>Design and develop scalable IP network and ISP infrastructure solutions to support business growth and technology strategy.</p><p><br></p><p>Prepare and review High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), technical specifications, and implementation guidelines for new services, network expansions, and technology refresh initiatives.</p><p><br></p><p>Lead network planning activities, including capacity forecasting, traffic analysis, technology evaluation, and infrastructure lifecycle planning.</p><p><br></p><p>Develop technical requirements, Statements of Work (SoW), Bills of Quantities (BoQ), and Requests for Proposal (RFP/RFI) documentation, and participate in the technical evaluation and selection of vendor solutions.</p><p><br></p><p>Prepare CAPEX/OPEX estimates, budget forecasts, and business cases to support annual investment planning and strategic initiatives.</p><p><br></p><p>Establish and maintain IP network architecture standards, engineering guidelines, and design governance to ensure consistency, scalability, resilience, and security.</p><p><br></p><p>Govern IP network operations by reviewing network performance, capacity utilization, availability, incidents, problem trends, and operational KPIs, and recommend continual improvement initiatives.</p><p><br></p><p>Define operational acceptance criteria and ensure new network solutions are fully operationally ready before handover to the Operations team.</p><p><br></p><p>Collaborate with Technology, Cybersecurity, Business, Marketing, PMO, Procurement, and other stakeholders to design and deliver new network services and solutions.</p><p><br></p><p>Manage technical engagements with vendors, consultants, and service providers throughout the planning, procurement, implementation, and acceptance lifecycle.</p><p><br></p><p>Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, providing recommendations for network evolution and modernization.</p><p><br></p><p>Promote automation and process optimization by identifying opportunities to streamline engineering, planning, and governance activities through scripting and automation tools.</p><p><br></p><p>Ensure all network designs and solutions comply with organizational security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, incorporating security-by-design principles.</p><p><br></p><p>Develop, maintain, and periodically review network architecture documentation, standards, procedures, technical roadmaps, and engineering documentation.</p><p><br></p><p>Provide technical leadership and governance during project implementation, testing, commissioning, and operational handover.</p><p><br></p><p>Education and Experience</p><p>Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, communication engineering, or any related field.</p><p><br></p><p>CCNA, or IP networks related professional certification preferred.</p><p><br></p><p>CCNP Routing & Switching experience is preferable.</p><p><br></p><p>3–5 years of experience in IP and ISP network planning, design, or engineering within a telecommunications operator or Internet Service Provider (ISP).</p><p><br></p><p>Exposure to IP Technical expertise in all areas of IP and ISP and capacity and CDN service providers.</p><p><br></p><p>Skills and Knowledge</p><p>Good understanding of networking concepts (routing, switching, security..etc).</p><p><br></p><p>Good understanding in L2, L3 networks</p><p><br></p><p>Good understanding on both IPv4 and IPv6</p><p><br></p><p>Good understanding of firewall, VPN and proxy policies</p><p><br></p><p>Excellent organizational, communication and troubleshooting skills.</p><p><br></p><p>Be willing to work in a team.</p></div></section><section><p class="heading">Desired Candidate Profile</p><p class="paragraph"></p><ul><li>Participate in the design, implementation, testing, operation and maintenance Zain Bahrain IP network.</li><li>Work in a team environment with shared responsibilities for new projects assigned to the IP Networks team.</li><li>Liaise with other Technology, Business and Marketing teams to assist in the design, delivery and operations of new products and solutions.</li><li>Manage the relationship with vendors and service providers engaged to provide networking products, services or support as required.</li><li>Analyze statistics, logs and alarms from network monitoring systems to maintain network health and take preventive and corrective actions as appropriate.</li><li>Assist the IP Networks senior Engineers in network capacity forecasts and planning of upgrades.</li><li>Automate repetitive tasks where appropriate using scripting techniques.</li><li>Research and keep abreast on new technologies.</li><li>Assist in the upkeep of proper documentation.</li><li>Work on various tools and technologies related to ISP and IP network systems.</li><li>Work on Internal LAN and WAN networks.</li><li>Work on various security platforms such as firewalls, VPN, IPS, Proxies..etc</li><li>Carry out the above duties outside office hours where deemed necessary.</li><li>Carry out the above duties with security-in-mind.</li><li>Perform any other related duties as assigned or needed.</li></ul><p><b>Education and Experience</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor s degree in computer science, computer engineering, communication engineering, or any related field.</li><li>CCNA, or related professional certification preferred.</li><li>CompTIA Network+</li><li>CCNP Routing & Switching is preferable.</li><li>3+ years of experience in the same area in the Telecom field.</li><li>Exposure to IP Technical expertise in all areas of IP and security networks is preferable.</li></ul><p><b>Skills and Knowledge</b></p><ul><li>Proven track record in designing and executing customer life-cycle strategies, retention programs and personalized campaigns.</li><li>Experienced in managing cross-functional projects and leading teams toward revenue or churn reduction targets.</li><li>Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.</li><li>Proficiency in campaign management tools and BI/Analytics platforms.</li><li>Excellent communication, presentation Join us.</p><br><br>Job Description<br><p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p><br><p>We are seeking a <strong>Senior Marine Ecologist</strong> to join our Environment team in AECOM Bahrain’s Office.</p><br><p>The role will involve leading and delivering marine EIAs and technical advisory services for coastal and offshore development projects, including marine environmental surveys. You’ll apply your strong academic background in marine biology to deliver practical, client-focused solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting sustainable marine management.</p><br><p>This role offers the opportunity to combine scientific expertise with technical leadership and delivery, driving coastal and marine ecosystem resilience in one of the world’s most dynamic marine environments.</p><br><p><strong>Duties & Responsibilities</strong></p><br><ul><li><strong>Leadership</strong>: Lead project team in delivering coastal and marine projects across a range of sectors, including ports, coastal utilities, reclamation, dredging, subsea infrastructure and coastal resilience projects.</li><li><strong>Project delivery</strong>: Scope, plan and deliver multidisciplinary marine environmental environmental assessments and monitoring projects on time and within budget; manage risk and schedule.</li><li><strong>Technical delivery</strong>: Lead all technical aspects of marine EIA delivery, including client and subconsultant engagement, whilst ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality outputs, including the preparation of high-quality deliverables (e.g. EIAs, ESIAs, EMPs, EMMPs and DMMPs).</li><li><strong>Agency coordination</strong>: Engage with local regulatory bodies and stakeholders, or regional equivalents, as required.</li><li><strong>Baseline and monitoring surveys</strong>: Design, plan and execute marine environmental surveys to identify and assess the status of benthic habitats and associated fauna and flora, fisheries, marine megafauna, seabirds, and water and sediment quality.</li><li><strong>Business development</strong>: Lead proposals, including technical approaches. Strengthen client relationships and expand marine ecology-related market opportunities.</li><li><strong>Cross-disciplinary coordination</strong>: Integrate marine ecological insights with a strong theoretical understanding of coastal modelling and marine engineering disciplines, including ports, coastal utilities (e.g. ROPs and WWTPs), reclamation, dredging, subsea infrastructure and coastal resilience.</li><li><strong>Nature-based solutions</strong>: Advance ecological restoration approaches such as living shorelines, reef, seagrass and mangrove restoration, and climate resilience strategies for coastal and marine habitats.</li><li><strong>Mentorship</strong>: Mentor junior scientists, review technical contributions and foster professional growth.</li><li><strong>Safety culture</strong>: Promote strong safety practices for vessel operations, diving and working in remote marine environments.</li></ul><p><strong>Person Specification (Personality Attributes)</strong></p><br><p>We are seeking a Senior Marine Ecologist with the personal qualities to lead and inspire.</p><br><p>The ideal candidate will bring a resilient mindset and a high level of commitment, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical standard achievable with reliability and focus. Calm under pressure, they bring steady judgment and sound decision-making to every challenge.</p><br><br>Qualifications<br><ul><li>BSc (Hons.) in Marine Biology or closely-related discipline; MSc and/or PhD much preferred.</li><li>Minimum PADI ‘Rescue Diver’ or UK HSE ‘SCUBA’ diving qualification and 2+ years of professional scientific diving experience.</li><li>Possession of a valid driving license.</li></ul><p><strong>Specific skills required</strong></p><br><ul><li>8+ years of marine environmental consultancy experience in the field of EIA and Permitting.
