<li>Monitor construction activities to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.</li>
<li>Carry out daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness campaigns to promote safe working practices.</li>
<li>Verify that work permits, risk assessments (RA), job safety analyses (JSA), and method statements are in place before high-risk activities commence.</li>
<li>Inspect scaffolding, lifting operations, excavation works, confined spaces, work at height, electrical works, and other high-risk activities for compliance with safety standards.</li>
<li>Ensure that all personnel use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with site safety requirements.</li>
<li>Report safety observations, near misses, incidents, and non-conformities, and assist in incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions.</li>
<li>Monitor emergency preparedness, including fire prevention measures, emergency equipment, evacuation procedures, and emergency drills.</li>

<h4>Qualifications, skills & experience</h4>

<li>Diploma or bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline.</li>
<li>Minimum of 5 years of experience as a safety inspector or safety officer within the construction industry.</li>
<li>Experience in civil, building, infrastructure, industrial, or marine construction projects is preferred.</li>
<li>Professional certification such as NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) is mandatory; IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent certifications are advantageous.</li>
<li>Good knowledge of local occupational health and safety regulations and international HSSE standards.</li>
<li>Familiarity with ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems is an advantage.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and emergency response procedures.</li>
<li>Experience in conducting safety inspections, audits, and preparing HSSE reports.</li>
