<p>The safety inspector is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe working environment across construction projects by ensuring compliance with company HSSE policies, client requirements, and applicable local regulations. The role involves conducting site inspections, monitoring work activities, identifying hazards, supporting incident prevention initiatives, and fostering a strong safety culture to protect employees, subcontractors, visitors, and project assets.</p>
<h4>Key responsibilities</h4>
<ul>
<li>Conduct routine site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with company HSSE policies, project requirements, and applicable legal regulations.</li>
<li>Monitor construction activities to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.</li>
<li>Carry out daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness campaigns to promote safe working practices.</li>
<li>Verify that work permits, risk assessments (RA), job safety analyses (JSA), and method statements are in place before high-risk activities commence.</li>
<li>Inspect scaffolding, lifting operations, excavation works, confined spaces, work at height, electrical works, and other high-risk activities for compliance with safety standards.</li>
<li>Ensure that all personnel use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with site safety requirements.</li>
<li>Report safety observations, near misses, incidents, and non-conformities, and assist in incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions.</li>
<li>Monitor emergency preparedness, including fire prevention measures, emergency equipment, evacuation procedures, and emergency drills.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate HSSE records, inspection reports, safety statistics, and documentation.</li>
<li>Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to resolve safety issues and improve overall site performance.</li>
<li>Support the implementation of company health, safety, security, and environmental initiatives across all project activities.</li>
<li>Promote environmental protection by monitoring waste management, pollution prevention, housekeeping, and compliance with environmental procedures.</li>
<li>Participate in internal and external HSSE audits and assist in closing audit findings.</li>
<li>Encourage proactive reporting of hazards and contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's HSSE management system.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Qualifications, skills & experience</h4>
<ul>
<li>Diploma or bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline.</li>
<li>Minimum of 5 years of experience as a safety inspector or safety officer within the construction industry.</li>
<li>Experience in civil, building, infrastructure, industrial, or marine construction projects is preferred.</li>
<li>Professional certification such as NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) is mandatory; IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent certifications are advantageous.</li>
<li>Good knowledge of local occupational health and safety regulations and international HSSE standards.</li>
<li>Familiarity with ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems is an advantage.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and emergency response procedures.</li>
<li>Experience in conducting safety inspections, audits, and preparing HSSE reports.</li>
<li>Excellent observation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence safe behaviors at all organizational levels.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital HSSE reporting systems.</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple site activities.</li>
<li>Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic language skills are an added advantage.</li>
<li>Willingness to work on construction sites and travel between project locations as required.</li>

<p><b>JOB PURPOSE:</b> Specialist Safety Training is responsible for ensuring that effective safety training is maintained across the organization and the wider community at the airside of BIA, in compliance with ICAO Annex 19, ICAO Doc 9859, BAC ASMS, and the associated procedures and guidelines. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Airside Safety Responsibilities Ensures the development, review, and update of the Aerodrome Safety department's Training and Competency Requirements Manual. Ensures that the Training and Competency Requirements Guidelines established for all stakeholders is reviewed, updated, published, enforced, and monitored. Participates in safety audits to ensure conformance of stakeholders with the training and competency requirements. Develops training material for safety inductions, familiarization and awareness sessions, and ensures their delivery in an appropriate frequency in the interest of continuous improvement to safety performance. Prepares new training sessions based on the safety trend and root cause analysis performed across the department and aviation industry, in order to prevent and mitigate safety hazards. Participates in and supports with safety investigations to ensure that the training element is considered, and that the corrective actions are commensurate with the training requirements. Ensures that PLB and VDGS training is performed in line with the established procedure. Maintains training records for PLB and VDGS. Manages the license and username/password issuance process for PLB and VDGS operation. Ensures that all new contractor staff performing duties at the airside are enrolled in a safety induction. Carries out class room driving familiarization sessions, and on site practical familiarization of the airfield as part of the driving permit issuance process. Monitors the performance of On Job Training for staff as part of the Manoeuvring Area driving permit issuance process. Maintains a record of all Manoeuvring Area driving assessments performed by Airside Operations. Supports with the review and update of procedures, manuals, instructions, advisory circulars, and safety flashes to ensure that the critical training elements are considered as and when necessary. Performs monthly, quarterly, half annual, and annual analysis of training deliverables, including awareness sessions, safety inductions, PLB and VDGS training and assessment, training audits and spot checks. Ensures that Airside Operations and Aerodrome Safety staff are trained and familiarized with the particulars of all SOPs, Manuals, instructions, advisory circulars, and safety promotion material. Utilizes globally recognized training methodologies and tools when delivering training sessions and assessments. Manages the process of issuing training certificates to staff as and when required. Ensures that Airside Operations staff are trained and competent in performing critical duties such as hand marshalling, follow-me escort, aircraft repositioning, Runway / Taxiway / Stand inspections, VDGS operation, safe aircraft parking, and GRF inspection and reporting. Develops and delivers training material to Aerodrome Safety and Airside Operations staff to ensure their competency in ICAO regulations, SARPS, and local BCAA regulations. Monitors the performance of external training providers in the performance and delivery of training sessions that have an impact on safety at the airside. Ensures that all BAC Management are trained and competent in their safety related roles and responsibilities including change management, risk assessment, safety policies, safety objectives in line with ICAO Doc 9859 chapter 8.3.7. Ensures that appropriate human factors training is delivered to all BAC staff, and that the same training is mandated to be performed by stakeholder trainers for their staff. Establishes, monitors, and maintains safety performance indicators to measure the frequent delivery of safety training. Utilizes case studies from safety occurrences at the airside such as accidents, incidents, near misses, violations in order to improve existing training material and the competency and awareness of staff at the airside. Performs training needs and gap analysis to ensure that the existing training program meets the safety, regulatory, and operational requirements. Ensures that Aerodrome Safety staff performing SPI/SPT analysis are trained and competent for the task. Ensure that the accountable manager (CEO) receives specific safety training in compliance with ICAO Doc 9859 section 9.6.4.8. Maintains a tracker for all training deliverables for Aerodrome Safety and Airside Operations staff and ensures that training targets are met in a timely manner.</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li>University degree in aviation management, or equivalent qualification.</li><li>ACI Safety Management Diploma, or equivalent desirable.</li><li>Aviation Legislation and ICAO Annexes training.</li><li>Competent in Aerodrome Safety Management System.</li><li>Certification demonstrating competency in preparing and delivering training programs.</li><li>Minimum 5 years experience with special focus on aerodrome safety and relevant training programs.</li></ul>

<p>As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer, your key responsibilities will include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Ensure that the EHS and food safety management system is established , implemented and maintained in accordance with HACCP/ ISO standards as well as local and international regulations.</li>
<li>Provide the top management with the necessary reports on the EHS and food safety management system established within the property along with recommendations for improvement.</li>
<li>Lead or participate in various types of EHS/HACCP/ ISO/Sustainability/OHSMS compliance and/ or management system audits and provide guidance on conformance and corrective actions required.</li>
<li>Establish audit requirements to ensure compliance in food safety, occupational safety & environmental regulations.</li>
<li>Oversee all audit results, evaluate trends, communicate results and establish action plans to ensure hotel remains in compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Participate in incident investigation and document root cause, communicate results and set corrective actions required to prevent reoccurrence.<br>Monitor / identify relevant changes in Sustainability/Health and Safety / Food safety local regulations and laws and update the internal procedures, policies and forms accordingly.</li>
<li>Drive improvement and track goals achievement through collection, analysis and communication of EHS goals and measurements. Review action plans with the Hotel EHS committee to reach the set goals.</li>
<li>Conduct training for all employees on EHS and food safety policies and procedures.<br>Undertake regular EHS and food safety inspections at the workplace and implement corrective action where required.</li>
<li>Ensure that the suppliers / contractors are complying with the EHS & food safety standards through audits and communications.</li>
<li>Manage and control all documents (manuals, policies, procedures, logs etc.) related to EHSMS & food safety and the corresponding reports.</li>
<li>Collaborate with various departments to implement corporate social responsibility activities aimed at contributing positively to the community and environment.</li>

<p>Occupational Health and Safety responsibilities will include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Develop OHSMS manuals, policies and procedures and review periodically or less if required.</li>
<li>Lead the implementation of OHS System and monitor the system through inspections, meetings e.g., OHS meetings, Management review… with the Head of departments as well as the operational colleagues.</li>
<li>Retain active involvement in periodic reviews and assisting in setting EHS objectives and targets.</li>
<li>Ensure that new employees receive all OHS trainings related to their specific tasks. <br>Report to senior management and sector regulatory authority on the OHSMS performance.</li>
<li>Ensure the Legal requirements are updated, communicated, and implemented throughout the property.</li>
<li>Establish and plan audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OHS regulations.</li>
<li>Oversee and communicate all audit results. Establish action plans to ensure the hotel compliance with OHS regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Conduct and regularly review the risk assessment for all areas in the hotel in coordination with the concerned departments and implement specific control measures.</li>
