<h4>Job summary</h4>
<p>KBR is seeking a mechanical engineer to support the design, development, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical systems, equipment, and components to meet operational requirements. The role will ensure designs are efficient, cost-effective, reliable, and compliant with applicable industry codes, standards, and company policies. The engineer supports project execution through all phases, including design, procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning and will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, reliability, and maintainability.</p>
<p><strong>This will be an onsite position with full-time deployment to NSA Bahrain in Manama, Bahrain.</strong></p>
<h4>Roles and responsibilities</h4>

<li>Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities.</li>
<li>Prepare and review engineering designs, technical drawings, specifications, and calculations for mechanical systems such as piping, HVAC, rotating equipment, and structural components.</li>
<li>Perform engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and fluid flow calculations to validate design integrity and performance.</li>
<li>Review vendor documents and technical submittals to ensure alignment with project requirements and quality standards.</li>
<li>Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance evaluation of mechanical systems to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.</li>
<li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, civil, instrumentation, and operations to ensure successful integration and execution of projects.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout all engineering activities.</li>

<li>Provides engineering services including performing field investigations and inspections, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations, design and development of statements of work, plans and specifications, as well as writing, preparation, and review of engineering reports.</li>
<li>Reviews drawings and provides construction support to assure compliance with plans and specifications. Researches and resolves design and construction problems.</li>
<li>Applies sound engineering principles, communicating complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams.</li>
<li>Functions as a technical specialist who makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have a far-reaching impact on extensive engineering and related activities.</li>

<h4>Basic qualifications</h4>

<li>Must have an active US Secret security clearance.</li>
<li>Must have a minimum of a BA/BS degree in civil engineering.</li>
<li>Minimum 15 years of civil engineering work experience.</li>
<li>Professional Engineer (PE) license issued by a US state in civil engineering.</li>
<li>Experience supporting public works or US Government facility projects.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Preferred qualifications</h4>

<li>Experience supporting DoS/DoD-related programs, international programs, or field-based monitoring contracts.</li>
<li>Familiarity with digital data collection tools and field-based inspection/monitoring methodologies.</li>

<p>Experience in planning and execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, Turnarounds, and shutdowns</p>
<p>Proven expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems in hazardous areas.</p>
<p>Hands-on experience with:</p>

<li>Transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers.</li>
<li>Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and UPS systems.</li>
<li>Generators, motors, and lighting systems.</li>
<li>Electrical systems in hazardous areas compliant with ATEX/IECEx standards.</li>

<p>Proficiency in SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) for scheduling, planning, and tracking maintenance activities.</p>
<p>Experience in generating and analyzing maintenance reports using SAP.</p>
<p>Familiarity with reviewing electrical design drawings, specifications, and standards.</p>
<p>In-depth knowledge of safety standards in oil and gas (e.g., HSE regulations).</p>
<p>Experience conducting risk assessments and implementing electrical safety programs.</p>
<p>Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) preferred.</p>
