Head of Litigation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the litigation department, overseeing all litigation strategies and activities.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for the organization.
  • Provide expert legal advice and guidance to senior management and other departments on litigation-related issues.
  • Represent the organization in court hearings, trials, and negotiations.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in laws and regulations relevant to litigation.
  • Manage relationships with external counsel and other legal service providers.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, pleadings, and motions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Train and mentor junior lawyers and legal staff within the department.
  • Conduct legal research and maintain knowledge of industry trends that could affect litigation.
  • Develop and manage the litigation budget and allocate resources effectively.


Skills

Essential Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Admission to the bar in Bahrain and a minimum of 10 years of experience in litigation.
  • Strong understanding of the Bahraini legal system and litigation processes.
  • Proven experience in managing a legal team and developing litigation strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years and maximum of 15 years of relevant experience in litigation and legal practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling complex legal cases and high-stakes litigations.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within a legal department.
  • Experience in industry sectors relevant to the organization (e.g., corporate law, commercial disputes).
