Job Purpose/Summary:
A senior petrophysicist’s is responsible for delivering integrated interpretations of well data, with recommendations on target reservoirs, pay intervals and other petroleum system considerations as relevant to exploration and appraisal projects.
Job Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
- Designs and plans for well data acquisition programs including but not limited to mudlogs, wireline logs, cores and cutting samples.
- Applies environmental corrections to prepare log data for analysis.
- Edits open-hole log data including splicing, depth matching and adding values for missing intervals.
- Develops and builds petrophysical models for reservoirs of interest.
- Integrates and interprets mudlogs, wireline logs, rock analysis results and other models.
- Identifies and highlights target pay intervals and reservoirs.
- Recommends testing and perforation intervals.
- Oversees the scanning and digitization of well logs.
- Mentors and guides petrophysicists and other junior team members.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor relevant to discipline.
Qualifications : (Education, Experience, Skills & Professional Certifications):
Education:
Bachelor in geology, geophysics or a relevant discipline
Experience:
5 - 10 years of relevant experience.
Skills:
- Proficient in technical software Techlog and/or Interactive Petrophysics (IP)
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Effective in a multi-discipline team environment -creative and collaborative in problem solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
