Job Description
Job Duties
- Responsible to lead the design team to enhance the "Design Excellence” through qualified project delivery.
- Manage small and medium sized projects or sections of larger projects to achieve the client’s objectives to cost and programme.
- Provide technological input and supervise technical input by others within the Architectural discipline.
- Responsible for the efficient and economic use of a small team and CAD technicians within projects.
- Manage project support teams including input from architectural technologists.
- Approves drawing packages for submission.
- Supervise the presentation of plans to governing and permitting authorities for land use, zoning and permit approvals.
- Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
- Inspects and supervises the inspection of construction projects while in progress and upon completion for adherence to plans and specifications; advises contractors on the interpretation of plans and specifications; approves minor design changes in the course of construction; reviews contractors' requests for payment.
- Carry assignments to completion with considerable independence in accordance with project objectives, professional standards, and policies and procedures.
- Supervise subordinate personnel in preparing plans, specifications and preliminary construction layouts and cost estimates.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree with major course work in Architecture required.
- MBA/MSc in Construction or Project Management or similar is preferred
Specific Skills Required
- Considerable project architect knowledge including design, project management and site supervision.
- Considerable knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools and equipment employed in building and facilities construction and maintenance in the field of structural architecture as related to public buildings and facilities.
- Expertise in large scale projects.
- Familiar with researching, preparing and presenting technical presentations and reports.
- Outstanding leadership skills.
- Ability to express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Excellent computer/software skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
