• To ensure children with behavioural challenges are well-supported in our mainstream school environment
• To ensure minimal disruption to the learning of the class / groups by supporting with behaviour management
• To work under the guidance of Learning Support Co-ordinator to provide support in addressing the needs of pupils who require particular help with regulating their behaviour
• Assist in developing individual behaviour/support plans.
• Contribute to daily plans and activities
• Challenge and motivate pupils, promoting and reinforcing self-esteem.
• Provide 1:1 support for pupils as required
• Support pupils who are not working effectively within usual classroom routines.
• Support pupils to make appropriate choices about their learning and behaviour.
• Work with school systems to communicate effectively with parents

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Psychology demonstrating a strong foundation in educational theories and practices.
• Certifications in special education or learning support are highly valued, demonstrating commitment and expertise in the field.
• State certification or licensure as a special education teacher, validating expertise and adherence to regulatory standards.
• At least 2-3 years of experience working with children with disabilities, showcasing a proven track record of successful intervention strategies.
• Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive teaching methods, empowering students to achieve their fullest potential.
• Strong communication skills in English, with additional proficiency in a second language preferred for diverse classrooms.
• Empathy and patience, essential personal qualities for building trusting relationships with students and their families.
• Ability to develop and execute data-driven IEPs, reflecting a commitment to individualized student success.
• Effective collaboration skills, enabling seamless teamwork with other educators and professionals in the educational ecosystem.
• Problem-solving abilities to address challenges in behavior and learning, promoting proactive and constructive solutions.
