The role of the NES Analyst is to shape and support Bapco Energies’ National Energy Strategy (NES) through advanced modelling, comprehensive market intelligence, and strategic analysis. The position is responsible for delivering deep insights into global and regional energy markets, evaluating economic and technological trends, and integrating innovative digital tools to inform national-level strategy. By providing rigorous analysis and forward looking assessments, the NES Analyst plays a pivotal role in guiding decisionmakers, enhancing strategic alignment, and ensuring the resilience and competitiveness of Bahrain’s evolving energy landscape.

Responsibilities:
  • Key Result Areas:
    • 1. Develop and maintain comprehensive energy models to support the National Energy Strategy.
    • 2. Analyze complex data sets to forecast energy demand, supply, and market trends.
    • 3. Conduct scenario analysis and risk assessments to support strategic decision-making.
    • 4. Perform market research on global and regional energy markets to generate market intelligence.
    • 5. Monitor and assess market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics.
    • 6. Prepare analytical reports and presentations on market and strategy insights for the National Energy Strategy.
    • 7. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the energy sector to support strategic objectives.
    • 8. Gather and assess stakeholder inputs to validate strategic assumptions and support energy strategy development.



Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, a master’s degree is desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy strategy, market analysis, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in energy modelling software and tools. 
  • In-depth knowledge of global and regional energy markets, including regulatory and policy frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and provide actionable insights.
