Roles & Responsibilities

To provide high-quality education and care for children in their early teens; to fulfill legal and statutory requirements; to plan and implement the relevant Key Stage curriculum. Additionally, to establish and maintain a record-keeping system that effectively monitors each child s progress; and to contribute to and implement school policies.

Prioritising small class sizes with low teacher-pupil ratios and multiple teaching assistants to ensure personalised attention for each child, students benefit from a diverse curriculum, including the British National Curriculum, International Primary Curriculum, NCFE, BTEC, and GCSE s. Children enjoy high-quality indoor and outdoor learning environments and a broad, balanced curriculum. The academy offers individualised education within a nurturing setting, providing strong academic and therapeutic support.   • Liaise closely with the Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Speech and Language Therapists so that both therapist and special provision can adopt an informed and holistic approach teacher where cognisance is taken of all the education needs of the pupils
  • Write and implement the IEPs so that each pupil has the chance to develop his or her potential to the full
  • Develop a close liaison with parents, particularly in relation to homework, organisation and management strategies
  • Lead a class for the BTEC, IGCSE, NCFE and ASDAN programmes (where appropriate), with appropriate planning and communication to the class team

Desired Candidate Profile

SEN Teaching Qualification with QTS

  • Demonstrated expertise in supporting children with diverse learning needs, including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional challenges
  • Proven ability to set measurable targets, monitor progress, and collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to support each child s development
  • Skilled in adapting and differentiating lessons to ensure accessibility and progress for all learners
  • A deep commitment to inclusion, equity, and empowering students to achieve their full potential
