Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor to join our team for a major infrastructure project located in Bahrain. The ideal candidate will perform survey work under the direction of the Senior Highway Surveyor, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all surveying tasks. This role requires strong construction supervision experience, particularly in expressways, interchanges, and intersections.


  • Perform survey work under the guidance of the Senior Highway Surveyor.
  • Establish primary horizontal and vertical control points, including reference ties for re-establishing points in the field.
  • Record all measurements, rod readings, and calculations neatly and accurately in field books as work progresses.
  • Coordinate with the Contractor’s surveyor on work priorities and schedules.
  • Check all work by completing traverse closures and bench circuits.
  • Report discrepancies or technical problems to the Assistant Resident Engineer.
  • Perform joint measurements of completed work for payment purposes.
  • Maintain survey equipment in proper condition and conduct frequent calibration checks.
  • Assist the Assistant Resident Engineer in preparing correspondence in compliance with contract documents.
  • Work with the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer to resolve site problems promptly.
  • Maintain records of material tests performed and executed works.
  • Audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor-submitted plans.

Qualifications
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong construction supervision experience on expressways projects.
  • Extensive experience in the construction of interchanges and intersections.
  • Proficiency in modern computer software and survey equipment.
  • Experience in the construction of bridge structures, earthworks, and road works.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure projects involving civil engineering elements.
  • High-level critical thinking and numerical skills.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize computer technology for data access, record maintenance, and report generation
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in infrastructure projects, with a focus on construction or construction supervision.
  • Middle East experience preferred.
