Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Senior Structural Engineerto join our award-winning team.


Distance work can be considered if the candidate is based in their home nation (Outside of the GCC).


This critical role will work as part of the Design Review & Technical Services Team, having a strong technical design background with some hands-on experience in the field (site). Experience in large-scale building and complex steel structure management projects across the Middle East desired.


The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and verifying building designs, ensuring technical soundness, compliance with regulatory requirements, and alignment with best engineering practices. This role requires strong understanding of GCC building development projects


We envisage success in this role to include:


  • Conduct independent technical assessments similar to CAT-2/CAT-3 reviews for concrete and steel structural buildings with the ability to perform self-calculations, documentation of any necessary adjustments, and a signed certificate confirming the design is safe and compliant.
  • Wide experience in design of advanced steel structural systems, including long-span structures, special connections, composite systems, steel-truss systems, and atypical configurations.
  • Assess soil–structure interaction (SSI) assumptions, settlement predictions, lateral soil pressure considerations, and compatibility between structural and geotechnical design inputs
  • Review and assess façade structural systems, including unitized/stick systems, steel-supported façades, tension structures, and cladding support frames.
  • Ensure the design compliance with international standards (SBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI, BS/Eurocodes, IBC, ASTM)
  • Prepare detailed design review reports, correspondence, and technical memoranda.
  • Provide high-quality technical support to the client during tendering, construction, and value engineering assessments.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.


  • Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is a plus.
  • minimum of 20 years' career mixed experience in design and design review for buildings and can cover concrete and steel building design, partnered with a Bachelor Degree qualification. Note: on the field (site) experience is a plus.
  • A minimum 15 years previous experience in a consultancy environment and a senior technical appointment within the last 7 years will be viewed favorably.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng – UK) and/or Professional Engineer (PE – USA) is required for this role.
