Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Senior Geothermal Engineerto join our award-winning team.


Distance work can be considered if the candidate is based in their home nation (Outside of the GCC).


This critical role will work as part of the Design Review & Technical Services Team, having a strong technical design background with some hands-on experience in the field (site).


We envisage success in this role to include:


  • Perform independent technical reviews of geothermal system designs at concept, schematic, detailed design, and IFC stages.
  • Review geothermal feasibility studies, thermal response test results, borefield layouts, well designs, and energy models.
  • Validate design assumptions, calculations, modelling methodologies, and system performance criteria.
  • Identify technical risks, gaps, inconsistencies, and non-compliances, and provide clear, actionable review comments.
  • Assess constructability, operability, maintainability, and long-term system performance.
  • Verify compliance with Client requirements, local authority regulations, international codes, and industry best practices.
  • Review alignment with sustainability frameworks (e.g., LEED, BREEAM, regional codes in the GCC) and decarbonization strategies.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary design review teams including MEP, sustainability, energy, civil, and geotechnical specialists.
  • Review geothermal system interfaces with HVAC, electrical, controls, and building management systems.
  • Participate in design review workshops and technical meetings with Clients, designers, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare formal design review reports, executive summaries, and risk registers.
  • Track review comments, responses, and close-out through successive design stages.
  • Provide technical recommendations to support Client approvals and design endorsements.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will have:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Geothermal Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Master’s degree in Renewable Energy or Geothermal Engineering (preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in geothermal system design and/or independent design review.
  • Demonstrable experience reviewing complex, large-scale developments or infrastructure projects.
