Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and detail-oriented Director of Finance to lead the pre-opening and launch financial operations of Tivoli Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain Resort and Avani Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain Resort.
This key executive role is responsible for establishing robust financial controls, systems, and reporting structures while partnering with the Hotel Manager and senior leadership team to ensure strong financial governance, compliance, and long-term profitability from opening day.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all pre-opening financial planning and setup, including budgeting, forecasting, financial systems, and internal controls.
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and SOPs in line with brand standards and local regulations.
Prepare and manage pre-opening budgets, opening balance sheets, and capital expenditure tracking.
Oversee all accounting, finance, procurement, cost control, and payroll functions for both properties.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly financial statements, forecasts, and variance analysis.
Partner closely with department heads to provide financial guidance, cost control measures, and performance analysis.
Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, audits, tax regulations, and brand financial policies.
Support the Hotel Manager and ownership with strategic financial insights, cash flow management, and decision-making.
Establish and lead the finance team, including recruitment, training, and development during the pre-opening phase.
Implement strong controls to safeguard hotel assets, cash handling, inventory, and purchasing processes.
This role is ideal for a pre-opening finance leader with strong hotel financial expertise, commercial awareness, and the ability to build solid financial foundations for a successful luxury resort operation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance
- Additional certificate as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will be an advantage
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting position or 2 years of experience in a similar capacity
- High degree of professionalism with strong understanding of business acumen
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and relevant financial and accounting reporting systems
- Fully conversant in accounting principles and financial regulation standard
