The Migration Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing migration and cutover activities related to Batelco’s IP Backbone and Mobile Packet Core modernization. This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise across IP networking and Mobile Core domains to ensure live network migrations are executed with minimal service impact. The role owns end-to-end readiness, cutover planning, MOP preparation and validation, execution oversight, real-time troubleshooting, and post-migration validation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end migration and cutover strategy for IP Backbone and Mobile Packet Core networks Prepare, review, and validate detailed MOPs (pre-checks, migration steps, rollback, post-checks) Coordinate MOP approvals with Core, IP, Security, and NOC teams Plan migration timelines and service impact windows with OSS and Operations teams Lead and manage cutover execution during maintenance windows Perform or supervise hands-on configuration and validation during migration Ensure service continuity across EPC, IMS, PCRF/PCF, WiFi Calling, AAA, and Charging Conduct post-migration service testing (signaling, user plane, QoS, session continuity) Troubleshoot issues during live migrations and coordinate resolution Provide real-time progress and status updates to stakeholders Document post-migration results, KPIs, and lessons learned Ensure compliance with security, quality, and operational standards

Mandatory Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer, or Electrical Engineering10+ years of experience in IP and Mobile Core networks within telecom operators Proven experience leading live network migrations impacting customer services

Technical (Must-Have)

Strong hands-on experience with Mobile Packet Core:EPCIMSPCRF / PCFAAAWiFi Calling Strong understanding of Mobile Core architecture, interfaces, and dependencies Deep expertise in IP Backbone & Transport technologies:IS-ISBGPMPLSLDPSegment Routing QoSProven expertise in MOP development, cutover execution, validation, and rollback Hands-on experience in live configuration, migration, and troubleshooting Strong understanding of how transport changes impact signaling, subscriber data, and session continuity Experience working under change management and service assurance frameworks
