We are looking for an ELV Draftsman to join our team of professionals.
Job Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software with demonstrated experience in ELV/electrical drafting
- Strong understanding of ELV systems, including security, fire alarms, CCTV, Access Control, BMS, data networks, communication, and audiovisual equipment
- Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA). Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality and safety.
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Job Responsibilities
- Create Technical Drawings: Utilize AutoCAD software to produce detailed drawings, plans, and diagrams for ELV systems based on project requirements and design specifications.
- Develop Schematics and Layouts: Generate electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and cable schedules to illustrate the layout and connections of ELV components and devices.
- Ensure Compliance: Adhere to relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA) to ensure that ELV designs comply with safety, quality, and industry requirements.
- Coordinate with Engineers and Designers: Collaborate with electrical engineers, architects, and other design professionals to integrate ELV systems into building plans, resolve design issues, and optimize system performance.
- Review Design Documents: Review project specifications, technical documents, and architectural drawings to understand project scope, identify design constraints, and propose solutions as needed.
- Provide Technical Support: Assist project teams with technical expertise, clarification of drawings, and resolution of design-related queries during the construction and installation phases.
- Document Management: Maintain accurate records of design revisions, drawing versions, and project documentation to ensure traceability and facilitate project management processes.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design standards before release for construction.
- Stay Updated: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to ELV systems and CAD software to enhance knowledge and skills.
