This position is located at Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, ISA Air Base, Kingdom of Bahrain. U.S. Commander, Navy Region Europe, Africa Centeral (CNREURAFCENT). The purpose of this position is to enhance quality of life for the unaccompanied military personnel by providing a comprehensive leisure time program of social, cultural, recreational, athletic, and fitness activities.

Duties
Plans, organizes and conducts a physical fitness program that provides conditioning programs, fun runs, fitness challenges, and other special events as needed for authorized patrons. Instructs individuals and groups in the proper implementation and maintenance of conditioning and training program for aerobic fitness, muscular fitness, body composition and flexibility training.
Works with various units/command representatives in developing and implementing sports and physical fitness programs for military personnel. Program to be coordinated with individual commands as necessary. Activities are encouraged to be conducted as part of the NSA Bahrain intramural program whenever possible.
Instructs patron in the proper use of all equipment for training and self-monitored progress by written instruction and procedures for the performance of work, use of equipment. safety and well-being of all involved.
Conducts physical readiness testing which includes measuring individual's aerobic capacities. body fat percentages. recommended height/weight ratios, strength, flexibility, muscular endurance and blood pressure.
Manages a well-rounded, group exercise instructor program. utilizing available Service Members' special abilities and talents. Registers students maintains attendance and appropriate program records.
lnstructs the following classes as needed: Command Fitness Leadership (CFL), Navy Operational Fitness and Fueling System (NOFFS), Mission Nutrition, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR}/First Aid.
Manages a well-rounded team and individual sports program, to include the maintenance of on-site sports facilities that affords Service Members opportunity for healthy competition and physical activity.
Communicates promotional material requirements and pertinent information to the MWR Marketing staff for inclusion in the MWR marketing efforts.
Evaluates program effectiveness through participation feedback and adapts programs to meet patron needs within financial. personnel and other resource constraints.
Manages and conducts day-to-day operations of the fitness Center, Fitness Annex, and facilitates the operation of two unmanned fitness centers located within the Isa Air Base area of responsibility (AOR).
Responsible for the supervision of the Sports and Fitness staff comprised of Third Country National (TCN) employees. May train/lead other employees in various recreation/physical fitness-related positions. Coordinates and works with volunteers.
Responsible for the procurement. issuance and maintenance of all equipment and keeps all programs current with outside trends. As required, opens and closes the Fitness Center. Ensures compliance with safety, fire and security regulations.
Prepares appropriated and non-appropriated funds program operating budget requirements for submission to MWR Site manager. Determines supplies, equipment and other resource requirements to conduct the fitness program, the most cost-effective supplier(s) and submits recommendations and purchase requests. Maintains internal controls over program supplies and equipment.

- Male candidates born after December 31, 1959, and at least 18 years of age, are required to certify that they have registered with the Selective Service System.
- Maintain certification of First Aid and CPR.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Must possess valid driver's license.
Qualifications
Knowledge of the principles, techniques and methods of procedure used in organizing, planning, administering and conducting sports & fitness activities. Knowledge of the entire scope of activities and their suitability for individuals, groups. ages and interest.
Must demonstrate strong leadership skills and ability to perform with limited supervision.
Ability to evaluate the participation response to activities and programs, and evaluate the extent, to which programs are meeting their goals, objectives, interest, and needs.
Communication skills necessary to work with the target age group of single military personnel, advisory groups and local community program representatives and vendors.
Ability to market the program and motivate eligible participants.
Knowledge of computers required. Experience with Microsoft Outlook. Excel, Word and Explorer is preferred.

Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.

Special Requirements: This is an 18-month (unaccompanied) or 24-month (accompanied) tour located in Manama, Bahrain.
