Economic Cooperation & PSD Advisor – EMV Support

The “Innovative Private Sector Development for Employment I-PSD Project” is seeking to hire an “Economic Cooperation and Private Sector Development Advisor – Focus: Policy Development Economic Modenizarion Vision (EMV)Support for full-time base employment.

 

Qualifications and specialist knowledge

  • University degree in Economics, Business Administration, International Development, Political Science or other relevant discipline.       
  • Proven in-depth knowledge and experience in private sector development, including in the area of policy and organizational development.       
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in the Jordanian economic development including international development cooperation.
  • Advisory experience including contracting and managing consultancy contracts, grant agreements, organization of workshops, events, and capacity development programs.
  • Experience in developing and implementing Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems, preferably in the area of policy development and implementation.           
  • Commitment, team spirit, reliability, communication skills, gender competence and inter-cultural understanding.     
  • Project management skills including good working knowledge of IT tools (phone, email, MS Office applications).
  • Fluent in English and Arabic, both spoken and written. 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Implementing private sector development measures in Field of Activity (1) focusing on policy development and implementation at the Ministry of Industry,Trade and Supply (MoITS).       
  • Providing professional advisory services to public and private sector institutions including MoITS, to support the implementation of government’s strategies (e.g. Economic Modernization Vision).  
  • Support MoITS to develop and implement a data-driven Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system for the government’s Economic Modenizarion Vision (EMV).      
  • Building and maintaining professional networks with relevant public and governmental oganizations, as well as GIZ and other donor- funded projects.   
  • Ensuring proper monitoring and reporting of results and outcomes in Field of Activity (1) and supporting the development of information and communications products.   
  • Developing and updating the project’s management tools including operational plans, results models, stakeholders map, and contributing to knowledge management.       
  • Performing other relevant tasks and duties as requested by management.       
  • Where appropriate and reasonable, the position holder is willing to perform tasks outside the scope of the job description.
