Capital School is looking to appoint a Primary Teacher (KS1 & KS2) to start in August 2026. The Capital School Bahrain is based on a classic British School set-up that offers a classroom structure with key stages of development. We teach the British National Curriculum including Early Years' Foundation Stage, whilst adhering to the requirements of the Bahrain Ministry of Education for Arabic, Islamic, and Social Studies. We create a positive & nurturing atmosphere to provide an excellent educational experience for our pupils. Our teaching and learning approaches reflect only the very best of British educational practice and are contained within a modern learning environment which is both stimulating and purposeful. Our notion of team spirit and co-operation is reinforced through our school house system of Buckingham, Windsor, Kensington, and Westminster. We moved to the new site in summer 2022, which organized the school into nursery, primary, and senior schools in separate buildings to accommodate all our pupils in the most effective learning environments. For the right applicant, there will be opportunities to rapidly progress into middle and senior leadership roles. We are a BSO (British School Overseas) and BSME school, meaning that we take newly qualified and early career teachers from the UK to support them through their teaching career. 

Key Responsibilities:

• As a Primary Teacher (KS1 & KS2), you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive, engaging, and supportive learning experience for all students. Your key responsibilities include:
• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the primary curriculum, ensuring they are stimulating and accessible for all children in your class.
• Developing and fostering positive relationships with children, encouraging their curiosity, creativity, and confidence in learning.
• Assessing student progress through ongoing observations, work samples, and formal assessments, using this data to inform future planning and target support where needed.
• Maintaining a classroom that is well-organized, welcoming, and conducive to learning, where all students feel safe and valued.
• Supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral development of students, promoting positive behavior and resolving any issues that arise effectively and sensitively.
• Collaborating with the Head of Primary and other staff to ensure continuity and consistency in teaching approaches across both KS1 and KS2.
• Contributing to the development and ongoing review of the curriculum, ensuring it remains engaging, challenging, and meets the diverse needs of all learners.
• Actively engaging with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress, well-being, and school activities.
• Providing constructive and meaningful feedback to students on their work, helping them to reflect on their learning and achieve their best.
• Supporting extracurricular activities, school trips, and events that contribute to the holistic development of students.
• Participating in regular professional development to enhance teaching practices and stay informed on the latest educational strategies.
• Contributing to the overall positive atmosphere of the school by participating in school meetings, staff development, and school-wide initiatives.
• Adhering to the school's safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring a safe, secure environment for all children.
• Taking part in the administration of assessments and the monitoring of student progress in line with school policies and procedures.
• Supporting the school s vision and values, contributing to the wider community of the school, and collaborating with other members of staff as needed.

Desired Candidate Profile

We are looking for a reflective practitioner who:

• Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Primary Education, ideally across both KS1 and KS2, with a solid understanding of primary curriculum requirements.
• A degree in Primary Education or a related field.
• A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
• Previous experience teaching within Key Stages 1 and 2, with a good understanding of the primary curriculum (preferred).
• Strong understanding of child development, and the ability to cater to diverse learning needs.
• Excellent classroom management skills with a proactive approach to positive behavior management.
• Passionate about education and committed to inspiring young minds.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider community.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
