Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Portfolio & Options Risk Analyst to join a high-performing private investment office managing a concentrated technology-focused equity portfolio with an active options strategy. This is a unique opportunity to work directly alongside the Principal as the primary analytical and risk partner, contributing to portfolio construction, derivatives oversight, and investment decision-making. The successful candidate will play a key role in the firm's long-term vision of evolving into a licensed Single Family Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the independent risk counterweight by identifying downside risks and challenging investment assumptions through rigorous analysis.

  • Build and maintain quantitative stress-testing models covering market drawdowns, volatility expansion, liquidity events, and macroeconomic scenarios.

  • Perform deep fundamental analysis on concentrated equity positions to identify thesis risks.

  • Manage and optimize short-options strategies, including roll decisions, Greeks monitoring, and portfolio restructuring.

  • Oversee Interactive Brokers (IBKR) Portfolio Margin utilization, maintenance requirements, buying power, and liquidity management.

  • Assess macroeconomic developments, geopolitical events, and sector trends for portfolio impact.

  • Evaluate investment ideas before implementation and ensure analytical rigor.

  • Identify relative value opportunities and volatility mispricing across equities and options markets.

Desired Candidate Profile

Candidate Requirements

  • 4–7 years of institutional experience in investment management, derivatives trading, treasury, asset management, hedge funds, or sophisticated family offices.

  • Candidates with 8–10 years of experience who remain technically hands-on are also encouraged to apply.

  • Proven experience managing short-options strategies through periods of significant market volatility.

  • Strong understanding of Portfolio Margin mechanics, options Greeks, and derivatives risk management.

  • Experience with Interactive Brokers (IBKR) Portfolio Margin is highly desirable.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or another quantitative discipline.

  • FRM qualification is preferred.

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and independent decision-making abilities.

Why Join Us?

  • Work directly with the Principal on a sophisticated, high-conviction investment strategy.

  • Take ownership of portfolio risk across concentrated equity and derivatives positions.

  • Influence key investment decisions in a highly entrepreneurial environment.

  • Join at an early stage and help build a world-class investment office from the ground up.
