We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to lead the accounting function for a company in the F&B/Retail space.
This role is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting business growth through sound financial management.
The ideal candidate brings deep accounting expertise, hands-on leadership, and a strong understanding of retail and F&B operations.
Main Responsibilities: ⁠Oversee all accounting activities for the Retail and F&B division, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, inventory accounting, and fixed assets Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; provide actionable financial insights to management Monitor cash flow, cost controls, margins, and profitability across outlets and retail operations Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory filings, and external audit requirements Establish and maintain effective internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team Collaborate closely with operations, procurement, and management to support strategic and operational decisions Support system improvements and ERP/accounting software enhancements ⁠⁠Experience in forecasting and cost controlling for F&B industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred).
⁠Minimum 7–10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior or managerial role.
Proven experience in Retail and/or Food & Beverage accounting, including inventory and cost of sales management.
⁠Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
⁠Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; ERP system experience is a plus.
⁠Excellent leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
⁠High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
⁠Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
