About Us

Under the guidance and direction of the Marketing Manager, within the limits of established IHG Hotels and local policies and procedures, As Asst. Sales Director you'll develop and set revenue sales and marketing strategies for the hotel to ensure plans are implemented, results are monitored, and sales goals are achieved. Regularly sell hotel rooms, meeting rooms, and food and beverage through direct client contacts.

Your day to day

Essential Duties And Responsibilities - (Key Activities)

  • Conceive and develop efficient and intuitive marketing strategies
  • Organize and oversee advertising/communication campaigns (social media, print media etc.), exhibitions and promotional events
  • Conduct market research and analysis to evaluate trends, brand awareness and competition ventures
  • Initiate and control surveys to assess customer requirements and dedication
  • Write copy for diverse marketing distributions (brochures, press releases, website material etc.)
  • Maintain relationships with media vendors and publishers to ensure collaboration in promotional activities
  • Monitor progress of campaigns using various metrics and submit reports of performance
  • Collaborate with managers in preparing budgets and monitoring expenses

Social Media

  • Works with MCM to develop and implement overarching Social Media Strategies to raise hotel awareness and drive revenues. Whilst actively engaging the hotel's audience to support the Public
  • Relations and Marketing efforts to drive rooms, food and beverage and catering revenues
  • Monitor and maintain Facebook pages for all revenue channels (rooms, MICE, weddings, etc).
  • These should be updated on a daily basis (wherever possible) to inform fans of news, special offers, events of interest, fun facts, jokes and relevant insights, to provide a "Stay Real" experience forfans.
  • Facebook advertisement campaigns; to be devised on a need basis and targeted by country,demographic & keywords. To be expensed and tracked.
  • Provide detailed analytics of all Social Media activity to define effectiveness of past, present and future activity including demographics, reach, and return on investment results
  • Twitter; Monitor and maintain Twitter profiles for hotel using analytics as detailed to report and feedback all findings and make recommendations for enhancement
  • TripAdvisor; encourage and monitor reviews for each property and F&B outlet. Send weekly report to HODs regarding TA status
  • Instagram; Monitor and maintain Instagram postings for all revenue channels (rooms, MICE, weddings etc.) and ensure all photos uploaded are up to date. These should be updated on a daily basis to inform followers of special offers and events of interest.
  • Google Maps; Monitor listings and ensure all are active and up to date. Remove duplicates. Report issues to Google.com.
  • Google Ad Words; Devise 'pay per click' key search words to promote websites. Google Reader/ Alters; Use to monitor blog chatter about the properties.
  • Wikipedia; create profiles for properties using Wikipedia Mark-Up Language, written in an encyclopedic style (not marketing language), including references for any facts given.
  • Wikimapia; similar to Google Maps - ensure outlets are present and details correct.
  • YouTube; Monitor and upload videos to the InterContinental Singapore YouTube profile, when suitable. Search YouTube for videos uploaded in relation to our properties.
  • Virtual Tours; maintain the virtual tours of each property and outlet, ensuring all details are correct. Monitor Google analytics to support usage.
  • Working with MCM to infiltrate blogs on selected topics to refer users back to our sites. Such as wedding, Expat community, Dining forums

What We Need From You

Distribution Marketing

  • Develops an effective strategy & activities to drive all e-commerce channels (CRS, GDS, Internet, Tour operators & 3rd party sites) contribution & revenue measuring performance against desired targets, consider all channel shift opportunities, rate & inventory parity.
  • Update the corporate website. HCM score to be maintained at 800, including all tools ie iRFP sites to ensure that the correct online is visible for all channels
  • Working with Marketing and PR team facilitate and share all direct marketing campaigns on Social Media on a weekly basis. Maintain and utilise all hotel(s) and external databases where required to assist in the driving of hotel revenues
  • Maintain and Manage Hotels Independent Website to ensure that at all times content is relevant and up to date. Recommend and initiate changes on the site in conjunction with the MCM / DOSM. Maintain and communicate monthly accurate data analysis from the website. Conduct SEO tactical campaigns where necessary on the site.
  • OTAs i.e. Trivago, Booking.com etc. Monitor all online content and imagery for IHG certified OTAs as well as guest review websites, and respond as the Hotel Manager on sites that allow this feature. Ensure content is updated by OTA representatives.
  • Utilize & communicate regularly results from DMAAG reporting from Merlin
  • Assist all development & implementation of internet marketing promotions to ensure functionality in support of strategy & initiatives
  • Ensure marketing opportunities are utilized via IHG Rewards Club including online reservations functionality & newsletters

  • Monitor & update all channel data bases (GDS, CRO, Web, HERMAN) to ensure correct representation of hotels
  • Maintain accurate tracking of all BTA / OTA Partners on a monthly basis. Make recommendations for improved performances where necessary and carry out approved recommendations
  • Using all IHG Marketing and Revenue reports to establish opportunities to drive consumers to Hotels own Branded Website
  • Make alterations where required to Hotel Branded Website via HCM to facilitate improved communications to consumers to drive hotel revenues
  • Assist in formulating expenditure requirements for all e-commerce activity for the purpose of budget submissions
  • Champion any future technology developments per specific channel
  • Develop understanding of regional market trend for both online and offline channels in order to proactively recommend action plan for respective segments
  • Collect data & report on competitor online communications & market activity in a timely and regular manner in order to communicate trends and make recommendations for enhanced on line performance
  • Any other duties or tasks as directed by the General Manager, Director of Sales and Marketing, Revenue Director that assist and support hotel operations
