Job Purpose:
The Regional Corridors Origination Team caters to the leading Regional corporations with operations across the Middle East & throughout Mashreq’s foot print countries. Our dynamic team is comprised of highly motivated professionals responsible for originating and cross selling a comprehensive suite of wholesale banking products: financing, cash management, trade & trade finance, FX and derivatives solutions. Our team is responsible for orchestrating tailored client solutions, operates across a wide range of industries and has a global mandate for new to bank clients.
This role, based in Bahrain, will report directly to the Head of Regional Corridors while maintaining a dotted line to the Head of Corporate Bahrain. The role will require working with the KSA Desk on originating & marketing cross-border Saudi transactions.
Key Result Areas:
- Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Drive the origination and onboarding of new corporate relationships, focusing on sustainable business growth. Develop and nurture client relationships while cross-selling structured financing solutions, trade services, cash management, liquidity, FX, and derivatives.
- Trusted Advisor: Understand clients’ strategic agendas to offer valuable insights and customized solutions that align with their priorities.
- Credit Structuring & Risk Management: Structure credit facilities with sound risk judgment, ensuring alignment with profitability targets.
- Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate effectively with various departments (coverage sectors, products, risk, legal, operations, etc.) and across geographies to deliver bespoke client solutions efficiently.
- Client Onboarding Strategy: Lead the client onboarding process, overseeing solution development, pricing discussions, facility structuring, documentation negotiation, transaction execution, and account setup.
- KYC & AML Compliance: Serve as the ultimate owner of KYC and AML responsibilities, exercising prudent judgment to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations.
- Business Development Initiatives: Support initiatives aimed at expanding our scope and generating new revenue streams.
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:
- Professional Background: We seek a highly motivated individual with 8-10 years of banking experience, particularly in the Bahraini and Saudi markets.
- Market Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the Bahraini and Saudi corporate banking landscape, knowledge of Saudi Eastern Province, is preferred.
- Wholesale Banking Knowledge: A strong understanding of wholesale banking products and prior experience in a global financial institution is required.
- Credit Knowledge: Solid credit acumen and the ability to make balanced credit decisions are critical.
- Client Engagement: Previous experience dealing with large corporate clients is a must.
- Regional Insight: Familiarity with Middle East corridors and relevant experience is required
- Business Development Acumen: A strong commercial mindset with excellent marketing skills.
- Client Network: A well-developed network of client relationships across global locations.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal partners.
- Proactive Approach: Ability to deliver results on time, foresee opportunities, and anticipate issues proactively, ensuring superior client delivery for multinational clients.
