Job Description

Responsible to implement all sales activities and maximize business opportunities in specific area of responsibility, implementing and executing all sales action plans. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the MICE responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • To be totally familiar with hotel products, rates, and promotions at all times.
  • Maintain up to date understanding of company products and rates and involvement in cross selling of these when required.
  • To participate in preparing the sales action plans, attend sales meetings; develop new ideas such as special packages, programs, promotional activities undertaken by sales department, F&B, spa and other hotel revenue centers.
  • Responsible for Room Sales of managed accounts in MICE segment including all group bookings in both rooms and banqueting.
  • To identify need periods and maximize meeting space utilization in coordination with the DOS and the Sales Team.
  • Participate in hotel activities including promotions, sales blitzes, entertainment and other operational areas as directed.
  • Service needs of customers by attending to all requests promptly within 24 hours.
  • Assist the DOS in pursuing new market segments to secure sales and prepare proposals for consideration.
  • Develop strong, secure and productive business relations with all companies within portfolio under the geographic / market segment allocated.
  • Positive communication of the hotel image to existing and potential customer at all times.

Qualifications

  • Experience in 5 star hotel
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Very good presentation skills (site inspections)
  • Understanding of Group operations (arrival procedures, meeting requirements, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office are mandatory
  • Knowledge and experience with Opera is an advantage
  • Previous experience in MICE is mandatory
  • Team player with supportive attitude
  • Fluency in English and other languages, written and spoken, is preferred
