Job Responsibilities:
- Curate wine lists to complement the fine dining experience offered by the standalone restaurant.
- Provide recommendations and expert advice to guests on wine selection based on their preferences and menu choices.
- Maintain and manage the restaurant's wine inventory, ensuring proper storage and rotation of wines.
- Train and educate staff on wine service techniques and wine pairings with dishes on the menu.
- Participate in regular tasting sessions to stay updated on new wines and vintages in order to enhance guests' dining experience.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop wine pairing menus for special events and promotions.
Skills
Essential Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Sommelier in a fine-dining establishment.
- Extensive knowledge of wine varieties, regions, vintages, and proper serving techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and staff.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing wine inventory and cellar.
- WSET or similar wine certification is preferred.
Desired Experience:
- Experience working in standalone fine dining restaurants.
- Proven track record of creating successful and profitable wine programs.
- Familiarity with the local and international wine market trends.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
