Role Overview:
The Director of Operations and Strategy is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing both the day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning. You'll be responsible to govern the strategy development and execution of strategic projects for the organization in collaboration with all functions to deliver enhanced products, services, operating models and processes that align with the Beyon Group
The successful candidate will be an excellent leader that has managed diverse operational teams and will have a strong understanding of different business functions such as Finance, IT, Project Management and Supply Chain Management.
Main Responsibilities:
Strategic-
- Lead strategic change initiatives end-to-end from initiation through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards as per the business strategy.
- Gather, synthesize and prioritise requirements from Lines of Businesses, Corporate Functions and firmwide stakeholders.
- Develop business cases for strategic programs and acquire the necessary funding to deliver the roadmap.
- Support the development and implementation of a strategic direction through the creation of value added partnerships, and support the management of these supplier partnerships with the Product & Service Manager and Head of LoB’s
- Communicate the strategic roadmap and priorities to key stakeholders and senior management.
- Ensure the negotiation process for partner service level agreements results in a beneficial agreement that enables Beyon Solutions to support clients.
- Maximize partnership levels in existing and strategically relevant geographies.
- Ensure the preparation of annual and other periodic reports covering the strategic, financial and operational performance of the business for the CEO.
Operational -
- Identify potential roadblocks/emerging risks then manage and escalate issues as needed.
- Develop and maintain deep relationships with stakeholders across lines of businesses and functional areas, as well as across the wider Beyon Solutions and Beyon group companies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to develop a clear understanding of near and long-term business needs, identifying opportunities for initiatives to drive value and efficiency to meet those needs, and responding with agility to changing business priorities
- Develop and implement strategic synergies across the group as part of the integration roadmap.
- Review the technical and commercial proposals for clients; make recommendations to improve the overall effectiveness and comprehensiveness of the solutions
- Implement best practice processes for center of excellence teams that align to CoE partner in collaboration with the CTO and Head of LoB’s.
- Act as the company’s main adviser on all issues relating to operational functions and keep abreast of latest developments to ensure that the company maintains its competitive position.
- Leadership of the Project Management function across the business for internal and external projects.
- Revise and formulate policies to align with strategic goals and ensure adherence to established regulations and governance.
Financial -
- Develop and control operational budgets to promote profitability and ensure the company has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters.
- Maximize the financial performance through management of revenue recognition, payables, receivables and cash generation.
- Management and reporting of the business financial position therefore a strong understanding of IFRS accounting methodology, along with budgeting and operational cashflow management is key.
- Direct and control supply chain operations.
- Evaluate overall company performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
- Operate the department in line with headcount and budgets and provide accurate reporting and forecasting of performance.
- Ensure rebates and incentives are maximized across partnerships and reported accurately to finance.
- Align strategic direction and partnership models to create group synergies across all companies.
People -
- Attract, develop, and retain a high performing team to meet the current and evolving needs of the organization through coaching, mentoring, and performance management to nurture technology talent and enhance capacity to deliver impactful results.
- Direct and oversee operations staff to ensure that they are motivated and trained to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
- Support a culture of agility, innovation and dynamicism with the Beyon Solution teams, through providing an atmosphere of empowerment, trust and honesty. A no blame culture is fundamental to this.
- Support the standards for competency and behavior as well as our vision and values and ensure adherence.
- Provide clear, accurate picture of team competencies and roles to enable improved flexibility of team members aligned to demand
- Ensure PMR process is completed in a timely fashion for the team and self, as we all as ensuring KPI alignment to organizational objectives.
