Role Summary
The Plant Engineer will oversee the maintenance and reliability of all machines and equipment within the joinery and metal production facility. This includes CNC machines, polishing units, milling machines, metal painting booths, and other specialized equipment. The role ensures minimal downtime, optimal performance, and compliance with safety standards through preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
Role Description
Operational Reliability & Safety Ensure smooth functioning of all industrial facility equipment and systems with a focus on safety, efficiency, and reliability. This includes compressors, dust collectors, firefighting and fire alarm systems, HVAC units, RO plants, material handling equipment, goods and passenger lifts, shutters, and both HV & LV electrical systems. System Design & Improvement Lead the design, installation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of diverse systems across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic domains to enhance performance and reduce downtime. Preventive Maintenance Programs Develop and implement structured preventive maintenance schedules for utilities, ensuring long-term asset health, minimizing breakdowns, and optimizing lifecycle costs. Routine Inspections & Compliance Conduct regular maintenance checks and enforce strict compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Documentation & Reporting detailed maintenance procedures, generate logs, and prepare reports to track performance, highlight issues, and support audits. Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) Plan, schedule, monitor, and verify AMC service tasks with precision, ensuring vendor accountability and adherence to service-level agreements Budgeting & Cost Control Prepare and manage budgets for utilities maintenance, balancing cost efficiency with operational excellence and reliability. Troubleshooting & Technical Support Collaborate with supervisors and technicians to diagnose and resolve machinery and utility system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/ electrical/industrial engineering. Experience: Minimum 5-7 years in plant engineering or maintenance within joinery, metal fabrication, or similar manufacturing environments.
Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge compressors / dryers/ generators. Firefighting HVAC. Familiarity with wood working equipment, PLC machines, etc. Proficiency in CMMS software for maintenance planning.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
