Assistant Resident Engineer

Job Role : Assistant Resident Engineer for a Leading Construction Business.

Job Location : Dubai and Bahrain


Job Summary Asst. Resident Engineer shall be responsible for cross functional coordination on the project with on-site delivery of time, cost, quality, and health and safety performance, also involved with close coordination with the site engineer and other team members on site for smooth completion of the project. Addressing clients query, review and approving reports that are for onward submission, further compiling and reviewing submittals done to the client. Monitoring the work executed on filed is in line with the set quality standards and in compliance with the law, rules and regulations.

Liaise with Design Teams: Collaborate with Architects and Engineers for design clarifications and contractor queries.

Prepare & Review Meeting Minutes: Draft, review, and distribute minutes of meetings; ensure accuracy and approval.

Conduct Technical Discussions: Regularly hold technical meetings with contractors and subcontractors to ensure coordination, involving the design office as needed.

Project Lead Responsibilities: Officiate as Project Lead in the absence of the Resident Engineer when instructed by Management.

Evaluate Contractor Performance: Assess contractor and subcontractor performance during and after the project.

Issue & Manage Contract Documents: Review, approve, and distribute contract documents to contractors.

Manage Site Operations: Ensure proper establishment of the site office and coordinate site-related logistics, including manpower deployment and progress reporting.

Review Project Schedule: Analyze project schedules and comment on contractor submissions for alignment with project timelines.

Ensure Quality & Safety Compliance: Monitor quality control, safety standards, and procedures on-site, including coordination of inspections and tests.

Manage Submissions & Approvals: Oversee material submittals, shop drawings, and other contractor submissions, ensuring compliance and timely review.

Coordinate with Statutory Authorities: Facilitate approvals and coordinate with local authorities for utility connections and statutory requirements.

Resolve Project Issues: Address and resolve quality, safety, and contractual issues at the site promptly, issuing Non-Compliance Reports (NCR) as needed.

Oversee Installation & Commissioning: Inspect and witness the installation, testing, and commissioning of major equipment and structures.

Review ‘As-Built’ Drawings & O&M Manuals: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of As-Built drawings and Operation & Maintenance manuals.

Manage Progress & Variations: Review progress reports, interim valuations, contract variations, and handle final accounts in consultation with project leadership
