Overall Role Purpose  

This position has full oversight for all Airline, AMO and CAMO Aviation Safety Assurance and Occupational Health and Safety, Ground Operations and Loadmaster Operations.

Your Tasks:

• Being approved by relevant Civil Aviation Authority as:
• Post Holder Safety for Bahrain Civil Aviation Authority, DHX Air Operators Certificate.
• Responsible for the implementation, maintenance and day-to-day administration of the Safety Management System (SMS) throughout the organization on behalf of the Snr Director Airlines and senior management.
• Post Holder Ground Operations Bahrain Civil Aviation Authority, DHX Air Operators Certificate.
• Responsible for the management and supervision of functions and activities within the scope of Ground Handling (GRH) and Cargo operations (CGO).
• Accountable for ensuring the safety of Ground Handling operations (GRH) and safety and security of Cargo operations (CGO).
• Airline Occupational Safety and Health, Kingdom of Bahrain, as designated Airline Health and Safety Officer.
• When requested temporarily assume role as Acting Vice President Airline, for the role of Accountable Manager for DHX AOC’s.
•  When requested temporarily assume role as Senior Manager Security for DHX AOC’s
• Managing Airline Emergency Response Plan, including co-ordination with third party service providers. Upon activation of Emergency Response Plan, as designated at the time, act as Emergency Response Director or on-site Company Lead Safety Investigator and Aircraft Recovery Team.
• Co-ordinating Airline Emergency Response Plan with DHL Express Crisis Management Plan.
• Acting as Lead Investigator for Corporate Compliance investigations, when requested by the DHL EEMEA Corporate Compliance Officer.
• Enable management to monitor compliance with various Civil Aviation Authorities. Endeavour to maintain regulated standards of safety as per the Safety Management System for DHL Aviation and associated Operations Manuals.
• Enable management to monitor compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Authorities. Endeavour to maintain regulated standards of safety as per the Health and Safety Polices for DHL Aviation and associated manuals.

Your Profile:

• At least 5 years within an airline management role.
• Sound understanding of DHL Aviation Network and Airline Operations of at least 2 years.
• 2-3 years of quality and safety management/training experience specific to SMS implementation
• Advanced level of PC literacy
• Good command of MS office programmes including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Formal QA or Safety Qualification in Auditing (preferably IATA/Aviation)
