Introduction: The program of Interior Design Engineering at Gulf University seeks to ensure that graduates of the program have the best career opportunities. The program aims not only to provide knowledge skills but also to provide students with different skills such as analytical skills, communication skills, leadership skills, teamwork skills, responsibility skills, lifelong learning skills and other skills that qualify students to meet the needs of the Labor market. The Interior Design Engineering program seeks to achieve realistic approaches to students through Internship, graduation project, field visits and special guest speakers. The program also represents a basis for continuing education at the graduate level - master’s degree in interior design engineering, PHD degree and professional qualifications.

Expected Qualifications:A PhD in Interior Design Engineering, Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Interior Built Environments, or a closely related core specialization from a recognized accredited institution. A combined practice in both academia and industry. Expected Experience:A minimum of three (03) years of Higher Education academic teaching and relevant professional industry experience in interior design, architecture or the built environment, including at least two (02) years of direct industry practice. Proven teaching effectiveness at university level, preferably within reputable accredited institutions and diverse cultural and educational environments, including experience in studio-based teaching, project-based instruction and assessment and graduation project supervision. Demonstrated experience to integrate real-world industrial case studies and practical applications into academic teaching and studio instruction. Demonstrated expertise in the advanced application and instruction of CAD, BIM and Autodesk modelling platforms within both academic and professional contexts. Experience in developing courses and modules specifications aligned with national qualification frameworks, international accreditation standards, quality assurance requirements and outcomes-based education models. Evidence of active research engagement, including peer-reviewed journal publications, design research outputs, conference participation and/or involvement in funded research projects. Experience and active engagement in outreach, community service initiatives and professional or societal impact projects relevant to the discipline. Required Skills:Demonstrated leadership capability and teamwork orientation, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, faculty, management, industry partners and the wider community, while contributing positively to academic and institutional initiatives. Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, enabling effective delivery of educational content, constructive student feedback, academic advising and professional liaison with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively within professional learning communities, fostering innovation, sharing best practices and addressing academic, administrative and pedagogical challenges. Capacity to identify, analyse and address internal and external challenges that may affect teaching quality, student learning outcomes and program effectiveness. Demonstrated ability to engage respectfully and effectively within diverse cultural and demographic environments, supporting inclusivity, student-centred learning, academic integrity and professional ethics. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance teaching, research, administrative duties and community engagement efficiently. Experience in academic coordination, including course scheduling, examinations, timetabling, student counselling and management of student records and assessment documentation. Proven experience in preparing reports, accreditation documentation and quality assurance files, and actively supporting departmental committees and administrative meetings. Proficiency in educational technologies, learning management systems (LMS), academic management platforms and digital collaboration tools. High level of motivation to contribute to program milestones, departmental development, and the university’s strategic vision, with adaptability to evolving academic, administrative and technological environments. Eligibility for/or membership in a recognized professional design or engineering body is highly desirable. Roles and Responsibilities:Deliver industry-relevant teaching and learning activities, including assigned interior design engineering and related engineering courses in alignment with departmental and program objectives. Actively contribute to departmental, college and university committees, supporting academic governance, program mission achievement and institutional development. Engage in research and scholarly activities, including collaboration with national and international research groups and contribute to the advancement of knowledge and innovation. Participate in and support community engagement and outreach initiatives organized by the department, the college and the university, strengthening societal impact and industry linkage. Assist in program and domain coordination, including course scheduling, assessment moderation, academic documentation and compliance with institutional policies and procedures. Support accreditation, ranking, and quality assurance processes through evidence preparation, reporting and the implementation of continuous improvement actions.-Contribute to student recruitment, open days, exhibitions, outreach and promotional activities representing the department, college and university. Support the development and enhancement of laboratories, studios, learning resources, facilities and digital infrastructure relevant to interior design engineering education. Contribute to and support extracurricular initiatives, including professional workshops, competitions, field visits and community-engaged learning activities that enrich the student experience.
