Job Purpose
Responsible for establishing, maintaining and implementing company’s QHSE standards, rules, policies and requirements.
Accountabilities
- Implementing on site Integrated Management System.
- Ensuring all relevant QHSE systems are implemented and practiced as ISO standards and Legal requirement on all DSV Bahrain operational facilities.
- Responsible for reporting the QHSE Performance / KPI on a timely manner
- Prepare audit plans, audit schedules and inspection plans.
- Coordinate with external auditors and government representatives pertaining to ISO & Legal requirements.
- Closing of the non-conformance in the internal and external audit.
- Responsible to maintain, monitor all the procedures and records pertaining to ISO standards & Legal requirements.
- Assisting Contract logistics & freight forwarding department in day – day QHSE management & administration
- Coordinating with DSV Employees at site / facilities to observe effective HSE implementation for the company.
- Investigating any HSE related incidents / client complains / worker’s complains and suggesting proper controls/ corrective & preventive actions
- Preparing lessons learnt based upon the key learnings and communicate the same to all the affected parties as a preventive measure
- Tracking and ensuring that all proposed corrective and preventive actions are carried out effectively.
- Data collection and analysis by way of weekly / monthly / quarterly / yearly statistics reports
- Assisting Top Management on identifying any process GAPs within the organisation
- Frequently visiting company’s facilities and conducting Observation tours, HSE Walk, HSE Inspections and implementing other relevant HSE implementation tools.
- To update Top Management about the safety issues
- Coordinating with employees and ERT while conducting emergency drills
- Conducting risk assessments for all the routine and non-routine activities and implementing suitable controls; recording and reviewing the risk assessments adequately
- Ensuring the QHSE mechanism is effective in all active locations of the company and all the documentation requirements are fulfilled.
- Conducting awareness programs, tool box talks and induction training to the workforce & maintain records
- Ensure all trainings are conducted as per the ISO requirements
- Coordinating during any external 3rd party trainings
- Working as Quality & HSE advisor to various functions of the company
- Ensuring the HSE communications pertaining are effectively reached to the proposed audience.
- Ensuring high standards of fire prevention methods, fire preparedness and response systems
- Ensuring effective fire/emergency preparedness and response systems are implemented on site. Monitor fire detection and fighting systems as per Legal requirements
- Improving compliance with HSE/legal and ISO requirements by reporting all near misses, hazards, non-compliances and violations and recommend proper/controls.
- Identifying required HSE materials/ equipment and calibration/certification requirements for the transportation, warehousing & open yard operations/facilities and escalating to the Top Management.
- Taking initiative to promote good HSE culture within the company.
- Working as Internal auditor for doing IMS audits
