Job Purpose








Plan, direct, and coordinate all freight forwarding and customs brokerage activities for air and sea shipments, ensuring the economical movement of inbound and outbound cargo. Supervise and oversee duties and responsibilities within the assigned functional area, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures in order to maintain effective, efficient, and compliant operations







Accountabilities















  • Handle all aspects of freight forwarding and customs brokerage activities for air and sea shipments.

  • Handle documentation activities with customer & agent of the import & export operations.

  • Arrange transportation for daily deliveries shipments. 

  • Provides technical expertise to staff on all matters relating to Freight and custom brokerage

  • Provides value added services to existing and potential clients.

  • Monthly profit and statistical reports; ensures billing & payables are kept up to date

  • Responsible for selection of carriers, transporters & routing of shipments.

  • Ensures the accuracy of documents movement with related departments.

  • Oversees the representation of a positive organizational image and builds excellent relations.

  • Efficiently updates, maintains database and related records pertaining to the job

  • Appropriate monitoring, reporting, communication and liaison.

  • Provides regular update to the Line Manager.

  • Process volume overflow shipments in dept. daily to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Creation of Job Files

  • Updates System with the Proof of Delivery.

  • Ensures the costing and billing activities are performed efficiently.

  • Handling freight RFQ’s and pricing on behalf of sales team.

  • Carrier interaction, bookings, documentation preparation, negotiation rates with airlines / carriers/vendors calculates rate quotations to customers & agents.

  • Responsible for the coordination of shipments internationally, both Import and Export, negotiates rates and providing a superior level of customer service.

  • Coordinates with other departments related to routine job activities.

Education, Experience, Technical Skills








Qualifications





Graduate or Post Graduate








Experience





Three-year relevant experience (preferable)








Competencies





Fluency in English is a must








Very good knowledge in using Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
