Job Summary:
The Steelfixer will be responsible for fabricating, positioning, and securing steel reinforcement bars and mesh for concrete structures within oil & gas projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and follow engineering drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and project specifications.
- Cut, bend, shape, and position steel reinforcement bars and mesh according to requirements.
- Tie rebar securely using hand tools, power tools, and fixing equipment.
- Assemble and install steel reinforcement in formwork, columns, beams, slabs, foundations, and other structures.
- Ensure correct spacing, alignment, and support for rebar placement.
- Operate cutting, bending, and fixing machinery safely.
- Work closely with foremen, engineers, and other trades to meet project deadlines.
- Comply with all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) regulations, including PPE usage.
- Inspect and verify steelwork for accuracy and compliance with quality standards before concrete pouring.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Steelfixer in oil & gas, industrial, or heavy construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bar bending schedules.
- Skilled in manual and machine cutting, bending, and tying of reinforcement steel.
- Knowledge of different types of reinforcement bars, mesh, and fixing techniques.
- Strong awareness of workplace safety practices and procedures.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in challenging site conditions.
- Team player with good communication and coordination skills.
