Key Responsibilities
• To review job cards issued to you and complete all the listed tasks that are within your capabilities.
• To only carry out the schedule of work listed on the job card, unless requested to do so the management.
• To observe the manufacturers guidelines when working on vehicles and seek assistance or guidance where necessary.
• To be aware of the allotted times allocated for the scheduled work on your job cards and to work within them at all times.
• To use the provided workshop tools and workshop equipment in accordance with their operating instructions and in a safe manner at all times.
• To make correct use of any Personal Protective Equipment provided to you and advise colleagues that may be working near you of any requirement for them to do so too.
• To follow the manufacturers guidelines and provide or printout supporting documentation for any warranty claims or reports that are to be archived in the vehicle history files.
• To advise the service advisor if you see any additional work that needs to be carried out and highlight any safety concerns.
• To label and store any parts that have been temporarily removed from vehicles safely and in a secure location.
• To correctly tag any faulty parts that have been removed from a vehicle and replaced on warranty, and to place them in the warranty parts storage area.
• To assist and support your colleagues when requested both physically and technically.
• To assist in estimating the labour hours, parts, oils, and miscellaneous charges required to complete a repair and assist the service advisor in preparing accurate and competitive repair estimates.
• To liaise with the service advisor and ensure that any parts required for a vehicle are approved and ordered as early as possible in the repair process.
• To ensure in conjunction with the workshop supervisor / manager that any repairs you have carried out have been completed successfully and are of a suitable standard to achieve a first-time fix.
• To ensure the workshop and related areas are kept clean, tidy, and organized always.
• To use all consumable items in the correct manner and ensure their efficient use.
• If you are authorized to test vehicles on the highway to do so in a safe and responsible manner whilst observing the rules and regulations of the road and driving within your abilities and according to the road and weather conditions.
• To carry out any other reasonable task or activity as requested by management.
Skills
• Minimum 3 year’s experience as a technician with a premium brand.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree will be a plus
• GCC drivers license is a requirement.
• Fair understanding of English as all documentation and training will be in English.
