Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive food safety and quality assurance programs to meet regulatory and industry standards.
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of food safety and quality assurance professionals to uphold company standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
- Manage all food safety-related incidents and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in food safety and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that raw materials and ingredients meet quality and safety standards.
- Prepare and present reports on food safety performance and quality assurance metrics to upper management.
- Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for staff on food safety procedures and practices.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies to facilitate inspections and compliance audits.
Skills
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
- Professional certifications in food safety and quality assurance (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, SQF, etc.) are highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Desired Experience
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing successful food safety and quality programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Experience in conducting audits and managing regulatory compliance is essential.
