ROLE PURPOSE:
- Manages all aspects of inbound and outbound shipments and provides timely updates on AOG and critical shipments. This position reports directly to the Senior Stores Supervisor but will also interact and work on a day-to-day basis with the Airline Materials Manager and the Deputy Material Manager.
YOUR TASKS:
- Arrange for transportation, warehousing, or product distribution of imported or exported orders. This includes requesting quotes for oversized or out of gauge shipments.
- Monitor or trace the location of incoming and outgoing shipments and provide a status report to the Airline Materials Manager daily prior to the morning meeting.
- Facilitate the import/export of aviation materials and logistics matters such as clearance of goods through Customs.
- Manage relationship with freight forwarders and brokers in order to coordinate the transport of goods to final destinations in a timely manner.
- Serve as a point of contact for logistics-related questions during audits.
- Move goods locally for repair or purchase.
- Packing, shipping and documenting of all outgoing parts and materials. This includes working in conjunction with the Airline Materials Manager and Senior Store Supervisor to ensure all movement of parts in and out of Stores is properly registered.
- Update the TRAX computerized inventory control system as required with AWB information.
- Packing, shipping and documenting of all outgoing parts and materials.
- Document the condition of all parts prior to shipping through the use of digital photographs. The Airline Materials Manager must be notified of any damage prior to shipping.
- Prepare documents for the shipment of dangerous goods.
- Communicate directly with company representatives that are managing C Checks and other heavy maintenance inputs to ensure timely and accurate shipping information is provided for all shipments out of Bahrain.
- Manage all customs requirements regarding imports and exports ensuring all requirements are complied with.
- Provide an oversight on any current Logistics running issues and be able to provide immediate feedback to the relevant parties.
- Participation in cross-functional projects/initiatives
- All other duties as assigned by the Store Senior Supervisor or Airline Materials Manager.
