Job Summary: The Risk Officer at Alyousuf Exchange is responsible to oversees the development and implementation of a robust risk management program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly those mandated by the Central Bank of Bahrain and other government authorities. And evaluate risk management processes, provide updates to the Board of Directors, and recommend improvements. The Risk Officer serves as the primary point of contact for risk-related matters such as identify, assess, and monitor risks, implement mitigation strategies, and maintain business continuity plans. Collaborating with internal departments, the Risk Officer communicate policies, provide employee training, and liaise with regulatory authorities, ensuring a cohesive risk management approach company-wide. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective risk management program, plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including those set forth by Central Bank of Bahrain and/or other government authorities.
  • Develop and implement effective risk controls and standards in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide regular updates on risk management activities to the Board of Directors and relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct enterprise wide risk assessment (counter party risk, liquidity risk, market risk, operational risk, regulatory risk etc.) and update on regular intervals.
  • Maintain risk register and update on regular basis.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management processes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensuring timely implementation of risk management activities and follow-up on action plans.
  • Monitor changes in regulations and updating policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Recommend risk management initiatives to the Board of Directors and relevant stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all matters related to risk management.
  • Develop and maintain business continuity plans to ensure the company can continue operations in the event of disruptions.
  • Identify risks, evaluate and ensure Implementing risk mitigation strategies and monitoring their effectiveness.
  • Work together with other internal departments to address cross-functional risks and ensure a cohesive approach to risk management.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor risks associated with the company and its operations.
  • Communicate risk management policies, procedures, and best practices to employees and ensuring their understanding and compliance.
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities and government institutions as necessary.
  • Assess and recommend improvements to the risk management framework and tools.
  • Prepare risk management reports for presentation to the board of its sub-committee(s).
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on risk management policies, procedures, and best practices.
Job Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelors degree in banking, finance, business administration or any other relevant field.
  • Preferably hold relevant professional qualification to the risk management function.
  • Clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities associated with the risk management function specifically in the context of exchnage business.
  • Understanding of the exchnage business industry and the regulatory framework.
