N Relocation? N Position Type Non-Management POSITION SUMMARY This position reports to the Fitness Supervisor and works in the Fitness Centre. The Fitness Pro L3 takes charge of the Fitness area, when Fitness Supervisor is not on duty or is busy with personal training and the rest of the Fitness Team, which includes all Fitness Professionals and Fitness Attendants. Primary responsibility is to deliver excellence in quality Fitness services to members/guests/visitors/ in a timely, courteous and efficient manner. These services are inclusive but not limited to providing towels, water bottle, headset, exercise shoes, and other equipment Members/Guests are asking for. Escort clients to and from the fitness facilities and attending to any immediate needs throughout members’/guests’ gym visit. Member/Guest follow-up will be expected. Equipment and exercise knowledge will be a focus to assist in building successful fitness programs. The Fitness Pro L3 is expected to perform up to a limit of 5 hours of personal training with clients during his/her 9 hour shift. Outside his/her shift, can provide additional personal training sessions during the Fitness Center’s opening hours 6:00am – 9:30pm. It is expected that the Fitness Pro L3 will perform a minimum of 5 hours of Group Exercise classes during the week and take part in teaching Jr. Gym classes for kids. It is the Fitness Pro L3 responsibility to ensure that all standards are met and will ensure that Fitness Professional clean the fitness area and machines as set out in Sop’s and task lists. The primary responsibilities of the role include:  Fitness Centre

  1. Complete area task lists and follow Sop’s as required
  2. Handle all guest requests expediently and courteously in an accurate, complete and timely manner
  3. Coordinate and perform all tasks as detailed in daily task list for all areas
  4. Check and sign tasks list during shift and ensure handover when leaving shift to another leader
  5. Report all maintenance issues to the Fitness Supervisor and Engineering
  6. Coordinate any purchase requests with the Fitness Supervisor or Assistant Health Club Manager for external materials for area
  7. Make weekly internal materials requests for area as directed by Fitness Supervisor or Assistant Health Club Manager
  8. Coordinate with fitness professionals their client timings, to ensure maximum coverage of fitness area during operational hours
  9. Schedule personnel according to business needs, weekly, monthly and seasonal.
  10. Plan Recreation Events and assure implementation with the rest of the organizing team
  11. Provide lateral service through Sports Club.
  12. Report all Mystique opportunities, assuring an accurate follow-up.
  13. Ensure that all equipment is properly cleaned, stored and secure when not in use
  14. Assist members and guests in performing exercises in a safe and accident free manner
  15. Ensure that adequate supplies of water, cups and towels are available at all times, and remain present in the gym when not engaged in personal training or doing Group Exercise classes
  16. Maintain a focused and dedicated attitude towards achieving overall Sports Club & Spa revenue goals
  17. Full understanding of the Sports Club and Fitness Centers’ classes and activities
  18. Assist the Fitness Supervisor in maintaining and updating relevant reports and documentation
  19. Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve products and services
Leadership
  1. Lead the Fitness team during the shift
  2. Ensure that all tasks lists are complete and schedule and implement plans for cleaning and maintenance of area.
  3. Equipment challenges must be coordinated with internal and external partners to rectify the situation immediately.
  4. Take charge in dealing with internal conflicts and resolve situations
Fitness Center Services
  1. As ambassador for The Ritz-Carlton Company always extending a Warm, Genuine and Personalized Welcome to all members and guests who visit our facilities
  2. Anticipate and fulfill each guest’s wish by offer water, towels, headset and any other equipment that s/he might need to make their fitness experience superb
  3. In a proactive and engaging manner extend assistance if and when guests are performing unsafe and potentially harmful moves and exercises
  4. Display manners and politeness worthy of Ladies & Gentlemen serving Ladies & Gentlemen by always extending a Fond & Engaging Farewell thanking them and welcoming them back
Training and Development
  1. Participate in ad hoc on-the-job individual and team trainings as needed, which is aimed to ensure that all team members have the adequate job and product knowledge
  2. Lead and direct the rest of the Fitness Team during the shift
  3. Report to Fitness Supervisor to rectify any lack in knowledge immediately
  4. Continuously re-certify her/himself and stay informed about all new developments and training techniques already on the marked and entering the marked 
Communication
  1. Ensure that all communication with external and internal guests is complete, accurate, engaging and positive
  2. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all guest information and pertinent hotel data
  3. Attend designated KRAs, development reviews, meetings, daily line-ups and communicate all challenges and successes with the rest of the team
  4. Promptly, accurately and consistently report all guest incidents and how they were solved
Experience / Qualifications:
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years  experience as Fitness Professional with The Ritz-Carlton or similar company
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in performing Group Exercise Classes to music
  • Level 3 Fitness Certification
Education 
  • College Degree or equivalent required in Sports and/or Health 
  • Must possess a current internationally recognized Personal Training Certificate
  • Must possess a current internationally recognized CPR card
