Supervise and coordinate the construction of roads, sewerage networks, manholes, drainage works, and related infrastructure.
Ensure all site activities are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
Conduct setting out, level checking, alignment verification, and measurement of road and sewerage works.
Monitor excavation, subgrade preparation, bedding, pipe laying, jointing, backfilling, compaction, kerbing, paving, and asphalt works.
Verify sewer pipe gradients, invert levels, manhole locations, and connections before proceeding with subsequent activities.
Coordinate with surveyors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and utility authorities to resolve site issues.
Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with project quality standards and applicable codes.
Arrange and monitor required tests, including soil compaction, concrete, pipe pressure, leakage, and sewer line testing.
Prepare daily site reports, progress updates, inspection requests, measurements, and site records.
Monitor manpower, equipment, and material requirements to maintain productivity and avoid project delays.
Review drawings and identify discrepancies, technical queries, and changes requiring clarification or approval.
Ensure proper traffic management, temporary works, dewatering, excavation support, and protection of existing utilities.
Enforce all health, safety, environmental, and housekeeping requirements at the work site.
Assist in monitoring quantities, subcontractor works, variations, and interim payment measurements.
Coordinate final inspections, rectification works, as-built records, testing, and handover of completed works.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in project engineering, preferably in industries like road construction and sewerage networks.
Experience in managing road projects with a proven track record of delivering on time and within budget.
Strong understanding of project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and engineering design tools.
