MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


  • 10 years in marine operations, shipping logistics, or offshore construction, oil & gas,  with at least 4 years in managerial capacity.

  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) along with supplementary credentials like ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or ISM Internal Auditor.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Marine Engineering, or Maritime Studies.

JOB SUMMARY

Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, project controls, and governance specific to heavy maritime repair, conversion, and engineering operations, plans and leads risk-based operational, financial, and compliance audits. Key duties include evaluating dry-docking project controls, managing shipyard safety and environmental standards, and assessing subcontractor management. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Risk Management & Controls: Develop the annual internal audit plan, test internal financial controls, and track corrective actions

  • HSE & Compliance Oversight: Assess adherence to marine environmental regulations, ISO standards, and shipyard safety protocols

  • Subcontractor & Procurement Review: Audit vendor selection, third-party contractor performance, and purchasing workflows for specialized marine equipment

  • Project & Operations Auditing: Review ship repair project estimating, contract variations, milestone billings, and material usage/scrap management.

  • Audit Execution: Lead end-to-end audit engagements, from annual planning and fieldwork to detailed reporting for senior management and the Board Audit Committee.

  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify operational, financial, and safety vulnerabilities across fleet management, offshore construction, or logistics.

  • Skills: Strong knowledge of risk-based auditing, data analytics tools, and technical report writing
