Job Purpose:

The Head of Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing all financial aspects of the organization. This position requires a strong background in financial accounting and reporting, budget and financial analysis, Egyptian taxes, and treasury management. The Head of Finance plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and stability of the organization, providing strategic financial guidance, and supporting decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

FAR:

Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and systems to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).

Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing processes, ensuring the timely completion of financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.

Manage the preparation and analysis of financial reports, providing insights into the organization's financial performance, trends, and key metrics.

Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process.

Monitor and analyze financial data to identify areas of improvement, implement internal controls, cost reduction initiatives, and mitigate financial risks.

Budget and Financial Analysis:

Collaborate with department heads and senior management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts, aligning them with the organization's strategic goals.

Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support decision-making processes, such as investment proposals, cost optimization strategies, and revenue generation initiatives.

Monitor budget variances and provide regular reports and analysis to management, highlighting areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.

Taxes:

Stay updated on Egyptian tax laws, regulations, and related compliance requirements, ensuring the organization's adherence to tax obligations.

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to prepare and submit accurate and timely tax returns, including income tax, value-added tax (VAT), and payroll taxes.

Liaise with tax authorities during tax audits, inquiries, or investigations, representing the organization's interests and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Treasury:

Develop and implement treasury strategies to optimize the organization's cash flow, liquidity, and working capital management.

Identify and evaluate financing options, negotiate loan terms, and manage relationships with financial institutions, ensuring competitive borrowing rates and favorable loan structures.

Monitor and forecast cash flow to support operational and investment decisions, recommending appropriate investment vehicles and optimizing cash utilization.

Provide financial analysis and recommendations for capital expenditure projects, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.

 


 - Bachelors degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.-10-15 years of experience- Professional finance qualification such as CFA, CPA, or equivalent is highly desirable.- Proficiency in financial analysis.- Experience with M&A transactions and due diligence processes is a plus.- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate financial insights into actionable business strategies.- Capable of overseeing end-to-end financial processes, from planning to execution and reporting.Exhibits excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of two or more finance professionals.
