We are looking for a skilled and passionate Sous Chef specializing in Italian cuisine to join our team in Manama, Bahrain. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation, and maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Head Chef in creating and designing Italian-inspired menus, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  2. Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring that they follow proper food handling and safety procedures.
  3. Oversee the preparation and cooking of Italian dishes, ensuring that they are executed to the highest standards.
  4. Ensure proper portion control and minimize food waste.
  5. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering ingredients and supplies.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following sanitation standards and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  7. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new recipes and refine existing ones.
  8. Assist in conducting regular kitchen inspections to identify any areas for improvement.
  9. Stay up-to-date with current culinary trends and techniques, incorporating them into our menu offerings.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Prior experience working as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in an Italian restaurant or hotel.
  2. Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, including familiarity with traditional cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavors.
  3. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and motivate kitchen staff.
  4. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  5. Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality food and service.
  6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  7. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  8. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  9. Culinary degree or certification is preferred but not mandatory.
