  • Positively coach, influence and actively manage leadership behavioral change according to the principles developed in the Way of Working program.
  • Coordinate and drive the local implementation of the Way of Working elements, including Process Standardization, Operating System, Lean Academy, Improvement activities (Kaizens) and Training within Industry (TWI) including JI, WI, and Job Relations.
  • Co-ordinate all efforts and initiatives for APM Terminals Bahrain business project plan.
  • Co-ordinate all efforts and initiatives for APMT Bahrain’s KBSP 2030 Growth Strategy; inform, escalate, and drive decision making with APMT Bahrain MD and APMT Middle East leadership team.
  • Inspire and lead the APMT Bahrain Lean & Business Transformation Team.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Drive, coach and support the APMT Bahrain organization in living our lean culture and driving our way of working program.
  • Be the local change agent and support and facilitate the anchoring of change and capability building within the terminal.
  • Coordinate and drive the local implementation of the Way of Working elements.
  • Coordinate and drive the implementation of the annual project plan for APM terminals Bahrain.
  • Coordinate, drive and ensure the local implementation of global improvements.
  • Coordinate and drive all efforts and initiatives for the successful implementation of APMT Bahrain’s KBSP 2030 Growth Strategy.
  • Take ownership of local implementation activities using defined tools and methodologies where applicable and ensure ongoing coordination of local resources involved in corporation with the Port/Terminal management.
  • Provide support to various tactical tasks, such as supporting business case preparation. In most cases, this individual should not be the owner but may need to provide additional hands-on deck support.
  • Develop and streamline collaborations and working methods between different functions within the terminal.
  • Facilitate Policy Development process, and challenge, mentor, and coach.
  • Support leaders and management team with quantify, plan, and implement improvements aligned with overall targets.
  • Provide timely reporting on progress, issues, and risks.
  • Create an environment that is supportive of learning, training and developing team’s competencies.
  • Drive, recognize and reward team’s performance, providing them with guidance for further improvement.
  • Encourage open dialogue and communication so that activities run consistently smoothly.
  • Continuously review progress and risks according to plans and make necessary changes to action plans to ensure objectives are met.
  • Reinforce APM Group culture, values & reputation & ensure compliance with APM Group policies.
  • Observe provisions of the Labour regulations, relevant HSSE policy & procedures, terminal rules & procedures.
  • Always develop self and maintain knowledge in relevant field.
CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • 5-8 Years of experience in management consulting or transformation related roles, ideally in the Middle East.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in program management/continuous improvement deployment role or significant experience with logistics & Terminals Operating system.
  • Good knowledge of public private partnership and or stakeholder management & interaction between the private and public sector would be very useful.
  • Project Management certification.
  • Preferably Lean Six Sigma
  • Preferably operational / managerial experience at a Container terminal.
  • Solid understanding of modern terminal operations and terminal management systems.
  • Solid knowledge of APM Terminals Operating System
  • Proven track-record leading and developing teams.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint (storytelling) and excel modelling.
  • Strong attention to detail and able to manage numerous moving pieces at once and escalate / drive decision making.
CRITICAL SKILLS
  • Ability to track & trace and drive a project to completion.
  • Ability to juggle multiple timelines and overcome barriers to achieve what is needed.
  • Ability to work with and influence senior level decision makers and stakeholders.
  • Strong change management and interpersonal skills, able to focus on business impact and change in behavior for the new ways of working and thinking.
  • Ability to drive implementation of new processes and support the organizational changes.
  • Good workshop facilitation skills, with the ability to adapt to local cultural differences.
  • Results driven with a strong analytical and problem-solving skill set.
  • Open minded, positive attitude and high drive to succeed and break through barriers.
  • Clear, persuasive, and collaborative communication & influencing skills.
  • Ability and drive to push the thinking & status quo forward.
  • Proactively addressing problems jointly with stakeholders before they grow acute.
  • Experience with working in virtual project team and working with external consultants is also preferred.
